He usually fixes his guitars and use them again. I think I read somewhere that the maker of the guitar made it so that the guitar neck is easily fixed cause he knows matt likes to throw his guitars around.

Manson knows damn well Matt smashes his stuff, and if he was offended he would have stopped making them by now. I too, am generally against smashing instruments. I get afraid even bumping my guitar. But in the end it's Matt's gear. He paid for it, he uses it, he owns it, and he can toss it around like a ball if he wants. He's a showman before a guitar collector at the end of the day.

He smashed way more guitars during the Absolution era, man. His guitar smashing antics are nowhere near as often as back then. He holds the world record for most smashed guitars because of his Absolution days. I believe he smashed 144 or so guitars during that era alone.

I don't think he gets them fixed up (not recently anyway) He uses the Matt Black Manson and they are a batch model, so there are a few of them that have been made so he can smash one up and get a new one afterwards.

True. Manson isn't going to be offended and it's obvious he's built them just for throwing around. Look at how easy the last two (Matt Black III and IV) have broken compared to the M1D1 Gloss Black which takes a heavy beating yet only gets minor damage (just like the Glitterati and the Mirror)

That number was never really proven to be very accurate and is still speculated to be an overestimate. Still, all the guitars he smashed in the Abso tour were cheaper ones that were kinda expendable. He's breaking Mansons now lol

umm okay. Richie Blackmore from Rainbow and Deep Purple smashed many guitars along with Kurt Cobain. I'd say those are pretty huge bands. Your comparison makes no sense because in that case the toys belong to your parents / your parent's house so of course trashing them would be bad. In THIS case, these musicians deserved and bought their own instruments and can do what they want with them. Also, Muse have done quite a few charity concerts so dont get started on that...

I'm just trying to point out that there are people like me who don't agree with this really disrespectful act of destroying a guitar, which has been done dedicatedly, with effort, with care, and as a musician myself i cannot stand this. it really offends me and many other people. I wish he would appreciate instruments the way he makes music.

The Who were pretty legendary and they invented it. And Hendrix set his on fire to avoid being upstaged by The Who at Monterey. Townshend regarded it as an artifact of autodestructive art which he'd studied at college, and it generally creates an aural effect you can't find any other way. Roger Daltrey said it was "the ritual slaughter of an instrument, but the sound of that slaughter was fucking fantastic". You can tell Bellamy wasn't intending to properly break the guitar there, he wanted to get certain sounds out of it, hence his bemused look when the neck pops off. It's not necessarily just a brainless act of hooliganism.
