Thank you for the reading and all the information. The theme recalls a passage in "The Longest Journey", where Forster writes (describing the aftermath of an unexpected death) : "Life, which had given them no warning, seemed to make no comment now". The world indifferent to individual suffering.

so prophetic and poignant and beautiful it resonated with me today all day as I experienced a tragedy of a death of an 18 year old boy my son's friend in a car crash and life just went on people drove they shopped they went on with their lives as did I as this boy died only less than 24 hours ago......................
