"Pens for her" reminds me of a story. I have a friend who works at Home Depot, and once a woman asked him for help finding the hammers. So he took her to the section, and pointed out the hammer he thought was best. She looked at him like he was an idiot, and asked how she was supposed to use that? He was a bit confused, and asked for clarification. She sighed, and said she needed a hammer for women. He was still kind of confused, and suggested a smaller hammer as a possibility. She started getting annoyed, because it still wasn't a women's hammer. He called his manager over on the radio and asked for an assist, told the woman his manager would be over to help, and then walked away and took his lunch break.

My brother and I, at the time of the colored ketchup craze, were old enough to have paper delivery jobs, so we each agreed to buy a purple and green ketchup to try it out. It seemed so exciting, but the problem was...well, they were green and purple. Once was fun, but after that, it was just too hard to get past the fact that something that smelled and tasted identical to the red ketchup was purple or green. It made it "all wrong". XD So after a few more tries we gave up. The novelty was gone. Our parents tried it once each, and refused after that. They couldn't get past the color or the idea that anything that makes meat green (like putting it on a burger) makes it appetizing, when green on meat usually means rancid. The purple one fared a bit better, but in the end, not even half the ketchups were used. And that's our story of the colored ketchup.

Shrek was released when the green bottle came out, I think that has to do with sales. If I am correct, they also put Donkey on the purple bottle.

I begged my mom to buy it for me . I ate it once and decided the colour grossed me out , and I never wanted to eat it again

He's right about the EZ Squirt being everywhere, idk how that qualifies as a failure. I had the shrek green one and I remember losing a tooth while eating some with my chicken nuggets, and my tooth was green.

in defence of the the "drill" Charlie was talking about. It is likely an elektrik screwdriver, which would explain the low torque as it is not supposed to have much.
@awildsnorlax3075 Жыл бұрын
Not gonna lie, did not expect anyone in this comment section to know the difference between a drill and a driver. Color me impressed.

Went to this museum with my toddler; it failed to entertain him, so i guess it was the perfect experience? If you’re in NYC, i recommend heading over to Sunset Park/ Industry City before May and checking it out

Why purple ketchup was deemed worthy of being inducted into the museum of monstrosities but not Pink Sauce is truly an abominable act of heresy.

I’m not a bot, but I genuinely get a smile on my face every time Charlie makes a new video. Ever since I first watched him back in 2018, he’s been one of if not my favorite KZbinrs. This means nothing but still I just feel like saying it

In Australia, the purple/green ketchup got recalled if I remember correctly, because they would puff up and pop on the shelves. The Australian version was different to the US, somehow; it's been forever so don't quote me.

I heard about it last week. I think putting the Museum of Failures in NY is very appropriate. New York has become a massive failure in the last few years

Lady tools! Long ago I kept buying basic tools so I could do basic stuff around the house. My husband worked construction and was constantly taking them. I finally bought purple ones and he left them alone. Now we laugh about it 20 years later. Don't knock them They work just fine and even husband uses them around the house.

I actually think stopping the produce of purple ketchup was a good move. Having purple unnatural ketchup is a bit weird, you have shampoos that are purple, it just doesn’t fit. *but serious who would consume GREEN bogey ketchup if they did even make one*

If theres no Virtual Boy i cant take this museum seriously. It failed so massively that within one year of release, i was able to buy one for $29.99 at Toys r us just mere months after it launched at $179.95 in the US. Also it only ever had 22 games, 8 of them only released in Japan. Now maybe the 3DO, Sega Saturn, Philips CD-I, Sega 32X (also got a 32X pretty cheap) and Sony Vita are also honorable mentions. But Virtual Boy is up there in spectacular failures fame.
