The Museum of Tomorrow (Portuguese: Museu do Amanhã) is a science museum located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The museum was designed by Spanish neo futuristic architect Santiago Calatrava and built next to the waterfront at Pier Maua. The construction of the museum was supported by the Roberto Marinho Foundation. The museum is an applied sciences museum which explores the opportunities and challenges humanity will be forced to tackle in the coming decades from the perspective of sustainability and conviviality. The museum houses 5,000 square meters of indoor space, including permanent and temporary exhibition spaces, a 400-seat auditorium, a cafe, a restaurant, a gift shop, an educational lab, and the Observatory of Tomorrow, a home for technological and scientific research.
