Gorgeous pencils with gorgeous packaging. Musgrave always blows me away with their quality. God Bless Tennessee for giving us great pencils.

Musgrave makes some good pencils and this one looks like no exception. The whole green thing seems a little gimmicky, though. The only thing I think is more eco friendly about this pencil compared to their others is the fact there is no lacquer on it.

Hi Juniper - this is a very nice pencil and I think Musgrave wanted to join other manufacturers with a "green" option. The fact that they are cedar and natural make for an attractive offering. Thanks!

Thanks for the review! It would be great if Musgrave could use such a nice eraser on all their pencils. I was a bit confused because when I personally compared the Ceres and Harvest, I found them to be exactly the same as far as I could tell…how would you characterize the difference?
@AlwaysAnalog3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rowan! I agree with you on the eraser. I'm often disappointed in the erasers on the Musgraves, but I was happy to see that this one performed better. For me, the difference between the Ceres and the Harvest is subtle, but noticeable. There Ceres seemed slightly more scratchy and light than the Harvest. Using Dixon models as an example, it is the difference between an Oriole and a Ticonderoga, although in the case of the Dixon siblings the differences may be a bit more pronounced. Thanks!

Ah I see. TBH I'm not sure I have used the traditional harvest. I know this is off topic but I love their Hermitage colored pencils. They are so vibrant!

Hi Mike - I've not tried the Hermitage colored pencils, but I like the way they look. I really like Musgrave products.

Nice review. My experience with the Greenbelt is that the lead is quite smooth but the hex edges are a little too sharp, which gives me hand fatigue. The barrel's label is a little too similar to the Mitsubishi 9800EW.

Hi konami1979 - most of Musgrave's pencils have sharp corners, and many people don't like them for that reason. I find I get used to them after a while, but you can really notice the difference from other pencils.
