That was helpful and after hearing about these two name brands for other videos your assessment of the two blade was fair and accurate and still valid today.

For a scabbard that rattles, I like to stuff a small piece of mattress foam all the way in the scabbard so each time you put it away, it stabs in the foam and doesn't rattle. Works great.

Not very, I bought a spray Acrylic finish that I'm going to use. I bought two of the Musha swords so I'll try it on one and if it works well I'll spray the other.

Thank you for doing this review. I'm interested in getting a cheaper variety Red Shirasaya and I noticed Musashi and Ten Ryu both offer one at a decent price. After watching this, I think I'm going with Musashi and fork over the extra ten-or-so bucks. Like you said, I can always apply a finish to the wood myself.

The Shirasaya is the "pajamas" of the katana sword. The fit in the saya is not meant to be tight. It is designed to allow the saya to breathe during the night when humidity and temperatures change. This prevents corrosion on the blade itself. Samurais would place their sword in this shirasaya overnight.

Hey i was wonder if you can remove the pin from the handle and take the blade out from the handle? I'm buying one myself but im deciding between this one and one like it soo this would help so much, thank you also umm how far down dose the tang or the end part of the sword, how far down dose it go in the handle? and how soft would you say the wood is? and do you have any suggestions for hardening the wood without making it have a glossy finish?

Musha isn't made by musashi because Musashi is not a brand, it was a man named Miramoto Musashi and he's the best Japanese swords man from Japan many many years ago and Musashi swords are made to be close to exactly the way his sword he wields. So Musashi isn't a brand, it's a type of sword that has not correlation as a brand to Musha, but Musha does accuire Musashi's
