Fact: Manisha was more popular that time so she was approached first and was the first to read the script and was to choose between her role or Kajols role. She choose the good girls role. Imagine if she would have chosen Kajols role . I think she also would have done same justice to that role. Both Kajol and Manisha are fabulous actresses. Your opinions?

Agreed!! But I think she was doing a series of non glamorous roles and she chose this one to do something different!! She looks stunning in each frame of this song!! This role was offered to Raveena (after Mohra) but she couldn’t do it! Manisha’s screen presence was so strong in this movie even though Kajol had a meatier role.

@@deepsmith5969 Gupt was released 1.5 years after DDLJ. The idea was to get most popular actresses at that time, they were highest paid in that era and also had equal screen time. Both Manisha (Bombay 1995) and Kajol (DDLJ 1995) were equally popular in that era! In fact but won Filmfare awards in the same year for their movies!
