My wife and I have harvested close to 50 pounds this summer! We’ve also managed to find some porcini too! Thanks for all your work. I’ve learnt so much from your channel and am beginning to teach my hunting buddies the basics of what I know. Keep it up Aaron!

Great video! We own a 10acre piece of land on whidbey and I just picked 22 pounds of goldens on it! Last year was the year I discovered they were growing there. They were exactly in a place like you described except for the large conifers. Our fir trees are really skinny but only because they were planted too close together probably 40 years ago after the place was clear cut. Thanks again for the education! Your videos are fantastic!

@mushroomwonderland1 1st ever patch that wasn't 4 hours away. I'd say 70% were buggy though...even the buttons had some bugs. Ended up tossing a bunch and drying a lot more that I thought I would.

I went out and found a bunch of beautiful chants and milk caps today. Man are you missing out! Unlike chants and boletes, milk caps are hearty and have a chew to them due to the latex. They are also the highest protein mushroom fyi. They are an east coast delicacy. I found three different types today along with the beginnings of my winter chants. I fried them up like fried chicken and ate them with a dipping sauce. Please try them or at least don’t knock them. They are their very own delicacy. 😋

I’m over in whatcom county in Washington and I’ve been watching your channel since I got serious about mushroom foraging about 2 years ago. I just came back from going out into the woods and finding myself a bag full of beautiful chanterelles. Thanks for all the mushroom knowledge!!

I’m worried that the dry spell we had for most of the summer here in Mississippi has made me miss the chanterelle season. I haven’t seen a single one since before the heat wave like a month ago.

Have you ever found white Chanterelles? I was once driving from my home east of B'ham to Lake Chelan in mid Oct. About half way over the pass I stopped at a very old 2nd growth hemlock forest. I couldn't believe it, but I found about a hundred very large white Chanterelles! At the time, I didn't know they also grew in white. So I only picked about 20 and brought em home to confirm. Yep, they tasted great! They're in a small area, and they're there every Fall.

I find it funny when you do these episodes because you have mentioned that you don't or can't even eat these cuz you get stomach distress. And unfortunately I just had found out myself that I have the same consequence. I had a good harvest this year at the beginning of season of course because it's super dry right now and I attempted to eat those bad boys up and. Unfortunately it wasn't enjoyable. So even if I can't in benefit from these nutrients my compost definitely will! They still are a beauty mushroom to appreciate!

@@ScottieD369 Yeah I love the way they taste, but they don't do good on my tummy. I still love to forage them and look at them and make videos about them. They're probably the most popular mushroom so I definitely have to make videos about them!

Late September and early October are often the peak of Chanterelle season in western WA. That said, the date-range is much wider, and I have personally harvested from August to November.

@@victorbenner539 I've never tasted truffles! I have unearthed a couple of them accidentally over the years, but was not certain of I.D. at the time. If I was thirty years younger I would seriously consider buying a Labrador Retriever to have it cross-trained for bird hunting and truffles! Watching Loki (the Hilliard's truffle hound) has added new entertainment value to "Mushroom Wonderland" videos!
