Sooo cool! Found you via IG - working on one now, my local yarn shop owner thought it would make a great hat, so I'm using brown for the brim/dirt. Just wanted to check, the pattern needs a multiple of 4 stitches (which you always get if you make a flat bottom. Thank you for sharing, agreeing with the comments that your video/voice/presentation is super clear and also very soothing!

Since we work - 1 single crochet, skip 2 stitches, 6 Double Crochet Shell in next stitch, Skip 2 stitches( then repeat) so in total we need 6 stitches.
