Not to take away fro M's achievements, Mae west and Madonna, has had major impact on the industry for women to be smart and sexual beings, which also transferred to the public...I don't think Madonna is the most talented female ent, but she's a feminist, strong mentally and is very business wise. She doesn't seem like the nicest person(I don't know her personally), but maybe that's how you survive in the streets...My fave M song is Get into the groove...I will always respect her for paving the way for women...

Everyone said that becuase her Rebel Heart album just sold 1.3 million copies compared to her MDNA that sold almost 3 million copies but I mean her album got leaked months before but were the demos so kind of put peoples expectancy down but I mean she did very good compared to Avicci, Ellie Goudling or some "Actual" artist in that year that released an album and sold less than a million I mean madonna did good. And her rebel heart tour was a success she sold out almost all of her dates.

Lo was an adult Fly Girl on In Living Color in 1990 or 91, which is probably the same time footage of Madonna, jogging in Central Park started circulating during the Blonde Ambition Tour. I think the absolute earliest Madonna could possibly be famous enough to even need body guards while jogging would be 1985 during the Virgin Tour, and that's a stretch. That certainly doesn't mean she was filmed at that time and footage of it was released. Even in 1985, J. Lo was 16.

What's interesting is that everyone always thought the successor to Madonna's title would be Britney Spears, but it turned out to be Beyoncé. I think what Madonna did to better market her brand was use world music, sing multi-lingual songs, and showcase a myriad of cultures from every country. I think while many of today's pop artists all strive for that same career longevity, many fail in that they either can't dance or lack the cultural influence.

If anyone, Beyonce is closest, but she seems too calm and safe by nature...too afraid to REALLY go there, even Rihanna is a bit more daring and unapologetic which is more Madonna-like. Beyonce definitely has the live performance chops, drive and aura of Madonna, but Madonna is a total rock star at her core. She likes to push it to the limits and beyond.
