As a beatboxer myself I find those videos very interesting. To see someone's opinion/view outside the scene with music knowledge can give lots of clarity for beatboxers I feel and push beatboxers towards creating/producing music. Keep them coming!

Dropicals sounds are very very unique. His high pitch alien noises I think are zippers (vibrating lips with inward breathing) mixed with vocalization and manipulating the pattern with tongue movements.

Zero is known for being a very clear beatboxer with technical difficulty. Previously he couldnt do it very loud but over the years (technology has helped a little) increased that volume and he sounds amazing now

Glad you got to this one, the trading off is unique to this competition and they don’t do it every battle, so unfortunately don’t think there are many others but glad you got to cover it. There are certain beatbox games where people try to imitate each other and circle jams though.

I'll try to answer some of your questions and give you some info too... The guy who was "singing" at Zero's back in his round was doing so because that routine was one of the most famous from Zero when he became GBB world champion on 2020 via online. Then, there was a switch in the third round because it was extra! There was a tie between the two beasts and they needed to do another one. That's why the format of the round was different as well. Trading off isn't typical, but there was a circle jam video from this event in which these beatboxes and a few other top dawgs in eastern Europe pass a mic and beat around which is a very fun listen.

As far as I know the human body is capable of doing up to three sounds / layers at one time. If you take all the beatbox sounds and their variations one can only imagine the amount of possible combinations. Beatboxers usually just have a song idea and then figure out which sounds to use to cover high mid and low end. Then there are a bunch of common techniques/combos for certain genres which you can string together. The choice of sounds makes it unique. The more you practice certain combos the more complex your patterns can become. It's a really good understanding of music mixed with years of work

what you were talking about around 14.05. It's kinda like this. The bass you produce from your throat and the add high hats and snares by using the lips almost exclusively. Also for breath control, those deep, cleaner sounding bass notes are produced by inhaling that allows them to continue on into kicks, snares, and high hat sounds, most of which, but certainly not all, are exhale sounds.

you should react to: car bomb - antipatterns. they have toured with animals as leaders many times. car bomb is more in the mathcore genre so it's a bit heavier. i think you would find them very interesting though. they also don't play to a click live or in the studio which is insane.

Dropical is heavily invested in the difficulty of execution. He does very difficult patterns that don’t always sound awesome but most people can’t do. That’s how he wins. Zer0 performs like a one man drum line and wins off precision and consistency with deep grooves.
