Great to know SPB sir has raised another musician by his guidance that Taman is grateful for and is helping another young boy now. Chitra and Janaki has raised alot of mallu people to become musicians. They all learnt and upgraded from TN and helped people in their own land. Athu irrukattum, illayaraja and vairamuthu sirs etc...ethana Tamil people a Tamilnadu la appadi ellupirukaanga?

Are you proud of your IGNORANCE?! It is Maestro Ilayaraja who molded SPB, S. Janaki, Chitra, Mano etc. and gave them songs of 101 dimensions /genres to transform them all into STARS, so much that they all have/had such an illustrious career. SPB told his cousin (shared by the latter) "I may have sung for several composers. But the life I have today, it is ILAYARAJA yitta pichchai"!

Ilayaraja has composed for FREE or LESSER compensation for several directors/producers just to help them find their feet or make them successful; the list of beneficiaries is long and includes Mani Ratnam, P. Vasu, Pratap Pothen, Santhana Bharathi, Parthiban, Bala etc. He helped / STILL helps his musicians, and is funding a premises for the Cine Musicians' Union.

Thaman's wife herself is a regular part of Ilayaraja's troupe. Just because SPB helped Thaman and the latter is saying this now (both from the same state), it does NOT mean "SPB raised another musician"! There is a lot of difference between "raising a musician" versus mere helping.
