Sometimes I forget that my entire family on both sides are desendened from Celtic and Anglo Saxon Tribes. My Mother’s family desending from the Celts and my Father’s family from the Saxons or something similar I don’t fully know about his side. Hearing these War Horns in the distance must have been terrifying, certain songs may have been used to signify Arrival or Coming, whilst others may signify War and Death, maybe even attempting to make opposition surrender instead of Death sweeping over them. With dozens of these Horns blasting in some disturbing ‘harmony’ would terrify opposition even before they arrived as the music is to ‘warn’ or ‘explain’ that they’re on their way and that there are a lot of them.

You have to remember, this is played in a crowded hall, the acoustics is good, but imagine this sound coming from all around you, from the distance, from close by, from the mountains, from the forest, all just sounding out of the early morning mist in a dark blue lit forest. A forest named for being a passage to another world full of monsters and demons. Then out of the woods come huge, blue skinned, crazy eyed, and screaming Celtic warriors, They dont just fight you, the tackle you, drag your friends into the brush and all you hear is screams, you try to form a circle with your fellow legionaries, protect the carts or people you were moving, only to suddenly find them gone in the darkness, and the chaos suddenly over. All that is left is a few dead Celts, a few dead legionaries, and a big empty space where your supplies were a moment ago. Then the last sound you hear is this echoing in the distance before total silence returns. That was Britannia in the ancient days.
