I didn’t think I ever knew that many songs but I know the words for most of them and all the melodies except for a couple. I’m 73 and we were in church twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday if not more Thanks for the memories. You can’t take anything to heaven except people. Make sure you know God and He knows you. Matt. 7:21

I happened to spot you on KZbin tonight5/8/2024, actually, it's 2.:03 am. I am so into the great Gospel Hymn Sing , I get from Atlanta, Ga. Always loved listening to piano music since I was a child now 80, still loving it although I am a product of the mid 40s and the great music of 50s, 60s early 70s which I listen to in the car. I grew up going to church with my mom. I love hymn music. My dad passed away in January and my mom had to be placed in nursing home memory care because she has dementia. I already care for my adult disabled daughter who is like having a 4 month old trapped in an adult woman body that doesn’t work correctly. My daughter cannot sit up on her own wall talk . I basically live for 2 people. She is 35 years old. Anyways I talk to my mom on the phone every day several times. One of her favorite things to do is sing hymns together. She might have dementia but she remembers the words to almost every hymn. I’m so grateful the God has persevered that part of her memory. Jesus is my Lord and Savior I hope whoever reads that Jesus is your Lord and Savior!!! He is coming in the clouds soon and will take us up to himself in the clouds. The people who are left behind will suffer Tribulation. I’m praying for you.

I grew up on Vancouver Island and attended a Plymouth Brethren Assembly -- we sang all these songs! My husband, David, grew up in Sioux City, Iowa. He always remembers where he was born but doesn't know that we live in Langley, BC now -- because of dementia! He thoroughly enjoys singing hymns and knows all the words. We'll have been married 50 years this summer but we were separated for 12 years while the children were growing up. sad. Our son, Nathan, was born on Mother's Day Eve with severe birth defects so was flown from up north (Prince George) to Vancouver Children's Hospital on Mother's Day. We drove home one hundred miles not knowing if we would ever see our baby alive again. He turned 41 this week and has a lovely wife and two little boys -- they all love the Lord! Our daughter, Melea, loves the Lord and teaches her children and the children for whom she is "nanny", many hymns. David got into a cult shortly after Nathan was born - the main reason we were separated. Now David forgets all the false teaching and loves coming to church with me: the Lord has restored the years the locusts had eaten! I have played piano and organ at Trinity Western University (where David and I met, Melea attended there, too!) and at several churches where we have lived. I have just started teaching piano to a friend from church. Thankfully the baptist church we attend still sings some hymns and "old" choruses. Maranatha, Oh, Lord Come!!

Thank you! An angelic message from my Mom in heaven who passed away with Dementia last summer. She did the same thing as a Pastors wife for 35 years. These songs are woven in the fabric of my life. I fought like crazy to give her every opportunity to play these songs until she couldn’t possibly remember the notes anymore. She used to play these songs while dinner was in the oven cooking. A vivid memory I will never forget. It is just that time here in my home as I hear you play these glorious tunes in my home and heart. Thank you! I miss her so….

So many of the hymns we sang back then had Bible lessons in them. I am 77 years old. And maybe it is just me, but it seems that many of the big church worship songs and music today repeat phrases like “We worship You”, “We worship You”, “We worship You” or maybe “We sing Praises.” “We sing Praises”, “We sing Praises to you”. And those are beautiful words, however, in the old hymns there was a Bible teaching message and information about God and His Son Jesus Christ. Even in that simple song “Jesus Loves Me”. Now that right there is teaching information about the love that God has for us His children, a message from the Bible. 🎵“Jesus loves me when I am good. When I do the things I should. 🎶 Jesus loves me when I am bad, but it makes Him very sad.”🎵 Yes Jesus loves me.🎵
