If you’re looking for a SH-101, believe me… get the Behringer remake, you will not be disappointed. I scored a red one and I absolutely love the thing.

Hi Jeffrey. Regarding the JX3P. Strangely enough, the holes on the top of the synth are for a music stand!! My one came with the wire stand, but I never use it. Awesome channel. Greetings from the UK

Who decides how the condition of these things are labeled? if it's the seller that decides it, it's no use..

Yeah, it's the seller, so it's highly subjective.

You ever return to these listings in six months to see if they sold? I’ve seen items for sale on reverb for years. These are either good or bad investments for non-music reasons. Maybe private museum.

You're right. I have returned to see some that are growing cobwebs figuratively. On Ebay too. Thanks for the comment.

I ve seen jup 4 ‘s for 3500 euro and nobody is/was buying it… i think that red sh101 is just a buy. Don t talk the price down, get it 😎 - i can t even find it on reverb so it sold or is filtered out for my country. Thank God 🙈 There are only 20 on reverb in my country and most are Japan… I did not know that the jx8p had that finish issue. Is it like the roland R8? I remember a joke on yt where a guy asked ‘what is that, silk?’ - from the movie coming to America 😂. Btw how often does a clone drop the price of a OG? Rarely. Mostly price goes up, doesn’t it… Clones sure do drop the price on earlier clones…

I just think a hardware or software clone would have to do stand in work for the Jupiter 8. A Jupiter X is no Jupiter 8 but I’d get the X and enjoy the savings. Better yet, just get the Fantom EX. The experts will know the differences but would the casual listener? Not likely. Making the transformer work for U.S. voltages is easy for some Rolands being JP/US/EU taps are already present. One power supply transformer for all nations with different taps off the same coil.

Goo gone is better. Much less harsh on paint finish to remove sticky tape residue.

20 years ago, a Jupiter 8 was $4000 tops. The problem with "music" today is that... people do not play in bands, they do not do tv commercials, there is not an actual market. So, people spend money on instruments as a hobbie and then they want to recover that investment or make a profit... because they are not making money any other way. That is why a Roland JP-8080 used to be $450 and now is $1500+! Imagine, I have two. All my studio are 90s mostly, I got everything for $6000 back in 2006 probably. Today everything is close to $30K or more... in theory. But mostly is just pure ignorance, why a JP-8080 is more expensive than an Access Virus Ti2 which is 16 JP-8080 in one?

The collectors are delusional. We're not in the 1990s of VAs, anymore. A VA can be stable as a Juno, or unstable as a CS80. It can be as clean as a Jupiter 8, or with an overdriven filter like a P5 or OB. The only practical reason to have the old synths is the hands-on control panels, with immediate access to everything without menus, and that's not worth the thousands premium they think it is. These are very old machines. The internals already fail in a few common ways, but, as time passes, they're going to be increasingly inoperable. Replacing a few voice chips in your Juno is going to become an entire recapping job, or finding some way to overcome the complete deterioration of the key-bed. Even if you easily have the money, a Behringer is a far less stressful option, at this point. Good luck to the speculating collectors, because they'll need it.

@@SarcasticTruth77 Just need to keep the equipment away from moisture and dust. I have a bunch of stuff and the only ones giving me problem are the Quasimidi, but is the same condenser or cristal. When a synth is bad, is bad, like the Roland D-70 that has a nightmare of a keybed. I have 19 synths, keyboards and racks. All fine, they were meant for abuse and touring. If you keep them nice, they will work just fine. The only common problem is the display, those you will need to replace.
