re: the church dance party- That one roll is the only roll that I save-scummed in my first playthrough. I didn't know what would happen if I passed it, but I failed it the first time, and that was frankly an outcome that I was not prepared to live with. People who've done it, you know what I mean

I just finished Disco Elysium and my friend immediately recommended me this video and I am SO glad. Reliving these moments and focusing on the music and what it wants to say in the moment is such a tender feeling. Im so glad to see that the music not only sounded beautiful but that the developers put actual thought and focus into how the music ties together with the game. Its just perfect, and so so beautiful. This is an amazing analysis . THANK YOU, for making this video, I wouldn't have known half of the beauty of this games OST without it. (PS cried like 5 times watching this, no shame, this game deserves all my tears.)

Damn. Thank you so much for this comment, its actually crazy to me that there are people out there like… sending this to their friends lol, that seriously means so much. And it means a lot that I was able to highlight somethin for you and even cause some crying moments (which I of course also had while playing the game). Thanks for watching dude.

accidentally came across this while listening to Sea Power lol, great work! Surprised this has under 300 views. Touched onto some of the things that I myself have been thinking about for a long time, very happy to see that there are other people who feel the same way. It really sets in stone the way I feel about DE as a whole, but the OST especially - ever since I played it I couldn't stop thinking about how fitting every single track was for all the parts of the game - honestly kind of reminds me of what Portal 2 did and how the tracks are a part of the game's environment, so glad to see others take notice of this. Incredible game innit

I just finished Disco Elysium and am exploring analysis and appreciation from the community here on KZbin. I knew British Sea Power as a name from the past but wasn’t aware they had done the soundtrack for the game. I found the music incredibly moving and haunting, I found the whole tone of the game haunting in fact. I tried to get my wife to play with me and she choose the character type “thinker”, and then proceeded to not participate. I completed the game as art-cop which is definitely my wife’s psycho-demographic. I am playing again as “sensitive” leaning in to “esprit de corps” and “shivers” which have opened up dialogue and options that I never saw in the early game on my first time around. “Shivers” and haunting definitely appeal to my artistic temperament as a photographer of cities and I am reinvigorated with hope after after experiencing this game, to make some art of my own. I love Cindy the Skull, the Ravers, especially Noid and Egghead, Harry, Doom Spiral and Miss Oranje. I’m still watching your video (not finished yet) and it is very good and informative. Thank you. I just found out that Sea Power are playing in my home town of Brighton next month on my birthday as part of the May Brighton festival, their 23rd year as a band playing on the 23rd/5th. I bought 4 tickets to go and I’m getting shivers about the future. Best.
@JoeDollyin7 ай бұрын
Glad youre enjoying the essay! And yeah Shivers is without a doubt one of my favorite skills in the game (next to Volition). And dude that is so sick that you get to see them live! I’m extremely jealous as I’m just sitting hear hoping they’ll do a NA tour again one day lol.

I've only just started the video, but the terminal B music was definitely a favorite of mine. It's so industrial and reflects the spirit of the strike and just the life of workers. I used to just stand over by the strikers for the sole purpose of hearing the track. I also love 'Tiger King' so much. I listen to it whenever I feel strong inner turmoil (which has been more often lately).

Great video! One more curious thing. “Disco inferno” and “burn, baby, burn” are references to the song “Disco Inferno” by the Trammps, it’s one of the major disco hits and is very in-line with Harrier’s “superstar” persona.

Dude, thanks for the recommendation! I just found the song you're referencing; "Cause" and I will for sure be deep diving Rodriguez's discography. Definitely got a down-trodden working class vibe that fits the themes of disco elysium, so you're spot on with that.
