The "Country" comment was interesting, because there was a big debate within YG about BlackPink premiering with Whistle because of the "Country" feel to it, they thought it would flop. But Teddy and BP still went ahead with it and it flew to the top of the charts despite the worry. (reference Blackpink "Light up the Sky" Movie)

For me, i feel like Blackpink needs to get out of their comfort level when it comes to their music and dancing so that it gives their fans more. We can't deny that their fan service is not the best and their music and comebacks are the only thing that keeps us blinks alive LOL

Production wise to me whistle is the most interesting it reminds me of both the ying Yang twins wait and Juelz Santana there it go lol , then maybe I’d say how you like that is right next to whistle in terms of production.Teddy is super good at making super catchy beats even tho as he said it’s often super layered and messy of several sounds you wouldn’t imagine together lol when I first heard his production like Big Bang 2NE1 and BLACKPINK stuff I was like what the heck is that lol but it’s actually super smart and catchy after a few listen. Tho I wish teddy would actually switch his formula and try new things because I feel like it’s been a whole 15 years I’m hearing quite the same pattern. Or maybe YG ent should actually work with more producer it would gives off new vibes

Whistle actually is one of the most iconic and key choreographies in kpop. Not to mention, the chorus choreography is very eye catching and makes you wanna move. The dance movements in the verses are a bit difficult and contain a lot of different levels and bounce, as well as dropping it down low..one of the hardest choreographies from blackpink and also to be able to pull if off like the members without looking like a stiff fan is quite a curve.

3:30 i feel him, but thats why yg (the producers) is so good, they do things that others find "messy". Also thats why it's so important to check the lyrics out since that with the choreo, music etc, always links up and the "messy" starts to makes sense somehow. Looking at your critiques of the songs I think when you are stuck into a particular view or old school notion of composition you are minimizing your potential and suppressing new ideas and new music ... there is a reason these songs get billions of views compared to "old school" artists who barely break a 100 mil .. it is new ..it is different .. it is fresh .. its like eating oatmeal everyday for breakfast for 20 years ... your bored with it .. then you get a taste of eggs bacon and toast and a whole new world opens up .. so to say as in how you like that that the rap should have that old school structure is limiting yourself to "oatmeal every day" where as everyone else in the world just found out about eggs bacon and toast.
