Song is heavy but wait until you hear Babymetal Shin Ver. or Sis Anger to decide which one is heavier. You got the translated intro in the description of that video at GuilhermeCait. If you're a Metallica fan you can spot the beggining riffs at _"One"_ song, as well of the -"virgen mary"- image behind (is not, is SuMetal resembles and Lady Justice Metallica tribute, even statue crumbling down is an homage) they're truly BM sensei and they support the group too. Our girls said this is one of the most physical demanding song, and you can see the reason why, they normally used this song as an opener and a way to warm up for next performances, in this rare exception this was at the end of the show, an epic finale. Btw there's no one relevant credited on the growling you are hearing on any BM song, except on "Distortion" that features growling of Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy band. This was during SuMetal 16th birthday and she was sacrificed as a j-pop idol and reborn as a queen metal goddess, the Fox God has bless all of us. The neckbrace is part of BM lore. Yoshiki (pianist and drummer on X-Japan) suffer serious injuries during a live concert while headbanging so hard (this was way back before BabyMetal was even created), after that he needs to use neckbrace to avoid doing that movement, he still playing and being active with his new energy drink promotional partnership with Coca-Cola. They are singing their names as a way to introduce themselves in japanese way but with the pun intended play of words: "SuMetal desu" means "I'm SuMetal" but she is trying to say "SuMetal death", same for the rest of girls with their respective names, and the rest of the song is: "B - A - B -Y - M - E - T - A - L DEATH! DEATH! DEATH! DEATH!" Back then when doing promotional, TV interviews and introducing they did it the same way, you can look for a long vid with all these clips of them saying this kawaii introduction. They were taught to say "th" of "death" word by bitting their tonges at the end to pronounce this the right way, but they added a wink looking like this 😜 You'll see many Japanese fans ended their sentences and comments with "death" to remember this, unlike western fans like me. During an interview KobaMetal (the producer behind BM) said that when he was travelling for concerts abroads around 2015 he came to know a band like Ghosts and he was interested in discover that band doing the same thing they're were doing theatrically and artistically, so anyone thinking those bands are satanic and such they're just saying nonsenses, they're just doing a show in which they're playing a role, and in order to be convincent (like an actor in a movie film) they need to perform their part like they're mean it, and the audience must be part of it and they're an important ingredient because other way it wouldn't work. That's why we said all the time "notacult", unless you actually are or want to feel part of it. ;) Oh and just a note aside for anyone thinking this is disrespectful to western religion and whatnot, is not! KobaMetal explained he needed to make a bridge between fans and them so they can familiarizing with the BM concept with images the fans already knew, in this case he used the Neon Genesis Evangelion series (talking about anime) as a drive vehicule which is heavily influenced by christianity, kabbalah, gnosticism and even islam symbolism, imagery and iconography, the plot on this was never took as a blasphemy for any religion and it was mostly used for aesthetic reasons, same for BabyMetal, it was used to represent the "Death and Rebirth" concept of SuMetal own role persona while having a bridge between fantasy and reality, the reality is she decided to end up her idol career (death) with Sakura Gakuin and commit herself to this new rol (rebirth) as a metal queen for BabyMetal. Sorry if this sound as a rant but i just keep seeing BM fans and general people who still don't get it. Thanks for sharing your breakdown once again. Kitsune up and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥

This is the opening song from their first album. In their early concerts, this was usually their show opener. In this concert, it closes the show. (The show opener was "Ave Maria" followed by a electronic version of "Headbanger") After spelling the band name, the girls are saying "Su-metal des, Yui-metal des, Moa-metal des" followed by "des, des, des". The meaning behind the crucifixion has a few interpretations. One popular interpretation is that Su is reborn into a metal Goddess. Another interpretation revolves around Su, who was often referred to as a metal princess, reborn as the Queen of Metal. By the way, Legend 1997 refers to the year Suzuka Nakamoto was born.

They say death but Japanese has no th sound. Comes out as s sound. Desu ( u silent) means we are, you are or I am. So Babymetal Death becomes an introduction. Typical Babymetal play on words. Like their name bebemetalru means new metal. The pronunciation becomes Babymetal. Another play on words.

Haha, confused? Good reaction. Hopefully my comment won't disappear like it has on the last few reactions to 'BABYMETAL Death'. The translation to the intro is in the description under the video, but AnOldYoungGuy has posted it below. This entire song is a play on words - it was the opening song on the first album and all they are doing throughout is introducing themselves. There is no TH sound in Japanese but the word desu (the U is silent) when spoken with a slight lisp sounds like the English word death. Desu means "to be, I am, we are, it is ..." etc So the lyrics "B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L Death Death Death. Su-metal Death. Yuimetal Death. Moametal Death. BABYMETAL Death" just mean "It is BABYMETAL. I am Su-metal. I am Yuimetal. I am Moametal. We are BABYMETAL". It is the perfect inroduction song and normally it was used to open their shows ... on special occasions it was used later in the show - like this at Legend 1997 to celebrate Su-metal's 16th birthday. This show was the final step in their transition from sub-unit of a JPop Idol group to independent metal band and the story line ran throughout the whole concert - more importantly it was about Suzuka Nakamoto giving up her human existence and her life as a JPop Idol to be reborn as the Metal Goddess Su-metal, chosen by the Fox God to lead the Metal Resistance. The neck brace given to her by the Metal God so she can complete the transition is a tribute to Yoshiki, drummer, pianist and main composer with legendary metal band X Japan who damaged his neck headbanging and after surgery he had to wear one most of the time to prevent further damage. The opening drum riff was a tribute to Metallica's song 'One' and the statue paid homage to their 1989 Justice For All tour where they also had a statue (Lady Justice) crumble at the end. They only crucify Su on special occasions.

18:38 welcome to Babymetal, their is some genius and madness coming together for sure. The idea of Babymetal is pretty out there. The funny thing is Fox God thing is based on something the girls did and certain Japanese traditions combined. The girls were shown the 'metal horns' and they said and made that sign: "look like a fox in shadow play.". Fox plays a role in Japanese myths and religions. You can see where it came from, from an interview: What was the inspiration for creating something so different? “[I was hoping] to incite that strange feeling that makes you go ‘what is this?’” KOBAMETAL explains, going on to give a concrete example; “Like the movie Kill Bill. I think Tarantino probably really likes Japan, and he worked hard on reproducing that in the movie, but it’s just slightly off, right? Still, it has a lot of originality.” For KOBAMETAL, that’s where the entertainment is. “[If] we were to do just straight metal-having the girls screaming-it probably wouldn’t be as interesting!” So the girls not knowing much about metal is sort of by design, because you get new original ideas. 🙂

excellent content TYLR-Metal, I usually comment a little funny thing about teenagers and themed birthday party getting out of hand, but you seem like you might enjoy the lore, so here is a bit of lore: the fox-god comes down and possesses the girls at every show but on this occasion, the Metal Resistance needs a goddess to lead it, so when Su collapses the fox god has left her and gone up into heaven to trace a path back to her, so when she awakens and screams, the fox-god and her new self enters her with the power of a goddess and the shock of the reentry makes her pass out again, from that moment on the band was now ready to dominate the world, with a full fledged metal goddess leading the way and btw the statue is not Mary or lady liberty, but the fox mother with a resemblance to Su, if this is all too much for you, you can just chalk it up to wild teenagers having a themed birthday party that got out of hand. #notacult #bestcultever

Oh, you calling them twins just now reminded me something else. Something I've noticed a long time ago that I've never really brought up before, Moa has the dimples this is totally correct, obviously, but sometimes it isn't easy to tell still when they aren't smiling. So another trick I have found that helps sometimes is to look at the pigtails. Yui's pigtails are more ... fluffy and curly. Moa's is a bit straighter. Also Yui during this period had slightly longer hair as far as I remember.

Yes, that's how the show ends. Others already explained the meaning behind all of the symbolism. I only want to add there's no consensus about who the statue represents. This concert is Su's 16th birthday party. She got crucified while they chanted "death" (or, more likely, Japanese "desu" - "we are") and blew the head off a statue. What did you do on your 16th birthday?

Nice reaction. Babymetal doing a great many tributes here. First has to be that opening riff which is a direct node to metallica's song One. If you don't know that song you need to react to that. Next up the neck brace is a node to the drumer from X Japan who broke his neck from headbanging and had to wear a brace. And yes, that really happened. The concert as a whole was done as a Rock Opera. The show told a story going from the first song to the last. The "Who" did this way back in the day. Lastly when the statue breaks that is another node to Metallica. When they did their And Justice for All tour, they broke a statue of Lady Justice at the end of the show in the same manner. The fun part is as heavy as that was, they found a way to get their kawaii ways in there. When Yui and Moa put the neck brace on Su they start to giggle. And then Moa has to fix Su's hair because you have to look good when we sacrifice you. lol. They have some good knowledge of the music and artist who came before them from their producer Koba. When asked who their favorite is Moa replied, Metallica, of course. I have said this before, and I'll say it again. Nobody is ready for death. Especially not Babymetal Death. To think all of that was actually just Su's 16th birthday party. In an interview Su said she felt the heat from those flames and thought they were to close. I have noticed since then they have moved the pyro farther away from her. Smart. In the end Su gave up her Jpop life for the lifelong job of a metal queen. Smart choice since many jpop artist careers end at 20. If you want to put Yui and Moa together you can call them MoiMoi. A name they took for themselves. And like everything Babymetal there is a story behind that too.

The death pun... There is no "th" sound in Japanese, so, most native speakers have a hard time pronouncing that blend. It usually comes out sounding like "ssss". So, when the say "death" it sounds like "dess", a pronunciation that is very close to "desu". Desu (the u is usually nearly silent in contemporary speech) translates to "am". So, when they say "BABYMETAL desu" they are just introducing themselves, "we are BABYMETAL". Likewise, when they say "SUMETAL desu", "YUIMETAL desu", and "MOAMETAL desu". They are saying "I am SUMEATAL" etc. The fact that it sounds so much like how they would pronounce death was really used a lot in early BABYMETAL days.

I've seen them 3 times now, and am a HUGE fan of them and their live show, and just learned that in Japanese it's Babymetal Desui, aka "we are Babymetal" and the song suddenly makes so more sense. It's such a clever way to translate to English." The true lyrics are literally just "we are babymetal, I am Su Metal, I am Moa Metal, I am Momo Metal, we are Babymetal. B A B Y M E T AL" and like...for an opening hype track, there's not a better one on the entire planet. Love them so much.

Often used for opening up every BABYMETAL Concert, now they switch to Metal Galaxy "In The Name Of". Death Legend 1997 Apocalypse:- Legend 1997 Apocalypse is a concert celebrating Su-Metal aka Suzuka Nakamoto 16th Birthday 🎉(Seitansai) which took place in Makuhari Messe in Chiba prefecture. Metallic Fans will notice the opening riffs which derived from Metallica song "ONE" which pays homage to Metallica. Live:- Death Legend 1999 & 1997 Apocalypse (stylized as LIVE~LEGEND 1999&1997 APOCALYPSE) is the second live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. The album contains live footage of two shows, entitled Legend "1999" and Legend "1997" (named after birth years of the members of Babymetal), performed in Japan in 2013. It was released in 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray formats on October 29, 2014. Live: Legend 1999 & 1997 Apocalypse:, Released: October 29, 2014. Recorded: June 30, 2013 (Legend "1999"). December 21, 2013 (Legend"1997"). Venue: NHK Hall (Legend "1999"). Makuhari Messe (Legend "1997"). Genre: Kawaii metal, J-pop, heavy metal. Length: 75:28 (Legend "1999") 82:24 (Legend "1997") Label: BMD Fox Toy's Factory Amuse Director: InniVision Producer: Kobametal Babymetal video chronology Live:, Legend I, D, Z Apocalypse (2013). Live: Legend 1999 & 1997 Apocalypse (2014). Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse (2015). The Destruction Of The Statue is similar to Metallica Justice for All live concert in Mexico City, Mexico 🇲🇽. The Japanese word "desu" (です) is a copula (= to be). The Eastern Japanese almost drop "u" of this word, so the word "desu/des" sounds like "death". And someone started writing "DEATH" instead of "です" (desu). It makes sense only where the Japanese word "desu" is expected to come. The title "BABYMETAL DEATH" means only "We are BABYMETAL." No relation to the death itself. I'm not sure of its origin, but I saw long before such a character as a vampire or a death metal singer in a comic and all his "です" (desu) were replaced with "DEATH" to emphasize his character. With such an air, it works well. Without such an air, it probably doesn't work. There is a genre named "Death Metal". The sound of this tune seems to fall within that genre, and the lyric writer may have put many "DEATH"s to emphasize the Death-Metal-ness. It might be alright to use many "DEATH"s without thinking of death if some of Death Metal bands also chose their style just to differentiate themselves rather than driven by the feeling about death. But I don't know the Death Metal well. MAKUHARI MESSE:- Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture. Designed by Fumihiko Maki, it is accessible by Tokyo's commuter rail system. Makuhari is the name of the area, and Messe is a German language word meaning "trade fair". •Owner: Makuhari Messe, Inc. •Opened: 9 October 1989. •Expanded: October 1997. •Classroom-style seating: 304 (International Conference Room). •Banquet/ballroom: 1,600 (Convention Hall). •Theatre seating: 7,860 (Makuhari Event Hall). Makuhari Messe is close to Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, and to Chiba prefecture's black sand beaches. It is accessible from Kaihimmakuhari station on the Keiyō Line of East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The center is the host of the annual Tokyo Auto Salon (modified car show, in January), the biennial Tokyo Motor Show (in October), the annual Tokyo Game Show (video game hardware and software exhibition, in September), the annual Jump Festa (manga, anime, and video game exposition, in December), and the biannual Wonder Festival (toys, scale figures, and garage kits exposition, in February and July). The venue was host to several Nintendo Space World events. It will be the venue for certain sports during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.

DEATH! DEATH!..." I find it pretty normal, isn't it? "Is that a crucifix?" No it isn't. It would be really weird, it's just a cross. 🤣 Okay, jokes apart, the whole Legend 1997 concert is an allegory about BABYMETAL's transformation from a J-pop idol group sub-unit into a legit metal band. And this number is the final piece, representing Su-metal's sacrifice as an idol and human just to become a metal goddess. See? It's easy. 😁 Until next time!

All they say is desu (pronounced as des) which means "I am" - and is a clever play on words/sounds. SO they are meant to be saying I AM SU-METAL - but make it sound like DEATH as they say it (plus with the slight Japanese lisp It it also sounds SU-METAL dis (as in 'this').

Ordinarily during Headbanger, Moa and Yui would bow to Su during the fog gun part and the audience would join in. So when they bow to Su on the cross. the audience is already primed to join in.

The bit they are borrowing from Christianity is a variation on Easter - crucifixion followed by resurrection. Resurrection is a form of rebirth and that's what they are really depicting here - Christianity is a minority religion in Japan, but their own religions have strong rebirth concepts. The whole show is about rebirth - it opens with a version of Schubert's Ave Maria into the Night of 15 mix of Headbanger (heavy techno). It's performed in the style of a traditional Japanese idol group (lip-synch, backing track, lots of dancers) to represent BAYMETAL's origins, then the Kami band appear for the encore. BABYMETAL DEATH closes the show as SU-METAL is reborn as a metal goddess. Simple! #notacult I'd say the show's opening is possibly more spectacular than it's closing, so hopefully you'll get to it at some point. I found that exploring Japan's idol scene was very helpful in understanding BABYMETAL. What most westerners see as weird is pretty common for idol groups in general (but perhaps not the ritual sacrifice bit). I don't care for much of the traditional boy band or girl band stuff, but it's often better produced that the western equivalents. Where it gets interesting is the alternative idol groups, where they take the idol concept and apply it to genres other than J-Pop. BABYMETAL were at the forefront of the alt-idol movement, alongside another group called BiS (Brand-new idol Society). BiS took J-Pop and blended it with various forms of punk. Between them they triggered the formation of many other alt-idol groups, including the likes of BiSH, GANG PARADE, ASP, PassCode, Yanakoto Sotto Mute, XOXO EXTREME, sora tob sakana, Maison book girl, MIGMA SHELTER and WAGAMAMA RAKIA. There's a lot of snobbery when it comes to idol groups because they don't follow the traditional band set-up and are seen as products of a company. The negative image is mainly a result of bad attempts to follow the model in the west (lots of bland boy bands), but respected artists like Elvis, The Sex Pistols and the Spice Girls have all followed a similar model. As a music producer, Japanese (alternative) idol groups should provide a huge source of inspiration.

Babymetal Death Released on 2013 Jan. 9th, coupled with IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI (included in the limited edition). First time preformed at Legend "I" 6 Oct 2012 at Shibuya O-East (LEGEND“I” at Shibuya O-EAST). Lyric: KITSUNE of METAL GOD / Music: KITSUNE of METAL GOD / Arr.: Yuyoyuppe Usually, this is the opening tune of BABYMETAL's concert. BABYMETAL DEATH (We Are BABYMETAL) B x A x B x Y x M x E x T x A x L DEATH!! [i] The letters "DEATH" only means "to be" (= DESU/DES_). The official lyric really consists of only the above one line. Maybe the staff thought too many "DEATH"s are inappropriate. The Japanese word "desu" (??) is a copula (= to be). The Eastern Japanese almost drop "u" of this word, so the word "desu/des" sounds like "death". And someone started writing "DEATH" instead of "??" (desu). It makes sense only where the Japanese word "desu" is expected to come. The title "BABYMETAL DEATH" means only "We are BABYMETAL." No relation to the death itself. I'm not sure of its origin, but I saw long before such a character as a vampire or a death metal singer in a comic and all his "??" (desu) were replaced with "DEATH" to emphasize his character. With such an air, it works well. Without such an air, it probably doesn't work. [ii] Is This Death Metal? There is a genre named "Death Metal". The sound of this tune seems to fall within that genre, and the lyric writer may have put many "DEATH"s to emphasize the Death-Metal-ness. It might be alright to use many "DEATH"s without thinking of death if some of Death Metal bands also chose their style just to differentiate themselves rather than driven by the feeling about death. But I don't know the Death Metal well. ROMAJI LYRIC AND NOTES ARE BELOW. BABYMETAL DEATH (We Are BABYMETAL) Romaji Lyric English Translation Notes (BABYMETAL DEATH. (x16)) (We are BABYMETAL. (x16)) 1,[i] (B, A, B, Y, M, E, T, A, L) (B, A, B, Y, M, E, T, A, L) (DEATH (x6)) 2,[ii] SU-METAL DEATH. I am SU-METAL. S (DEATH (x6)) YUIMETAL DEATH. I am YUIMETAL. Y (DEATH (x6)) MOAMETAL DEATH. Notes The lines marked with "S" are sung by SU-METAL, with "Y" by YUIMETAL, with "M" by MOAMETAL, with "A" by all three members (added on 2017 Mar. 17). I think I hear this, but not for sure. I'm sure these lines never means the death itself. I have no idea for translation. On a certain BBS, I asked what words the audience of the concerts shout in this part, and I got an answer "DEATH" without dissents. by Du Enki

OK Grington has given you the quick version hear is the whole thing. *BABYMETAL - LEGEND 1997 CONCERT*. Song: BABYMETAL DEATH. The monologue at the start is in Japanese. So hear is (The English Translation of the opening Monologue). "Legend One-Nine-Nine-Seven. It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset from the god of the Metal, she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess. The gene which has been determined from ancient time is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time. The apocalypse prophesied the DOOMSDAY. Towards it, there remains… little time… BABYMETAL DEATH is normally the song that they would open a show with as all there are doing is introducing themselves and geting the crowd fired up and ready for the rest of the show. The lyrics start with the crowd spelling out "B - A - B - Y - M - E - T - A - L" then the girls tell us who they are "Su-metal desu (I am SU-Metal") , "Yuimetal desu (I am Yuimetal"), "Moametal desu (I am Moametal"), "BABYMETAL desu (we are Babymetal"), now this may look a little strange to you as when introducing themselves individually it is ("I am") yet when introducing themselves as a group it is ("we are"), lets explain that first thing when saying the word "desu" (the U is silent) so when Yui is introducing her self she says "Yuimetal des" but as Yui is saying the word "DES" at the end of saying it she will put her tongue between her teeth makeing a sound like "TH" so you get "Yuimetal des-th" and that put her tongue between her teeth makes the word "Des-th" mean (I am), now when they are introducing them selfs as a group they say "Babymetal des" but they don't put they tongue between her teeth at the end of the word "Des" this makes the word "Des" sound different and changes the meaning of it to (we are), ther is one more word to the lyrics of this and that is the fans line or word in this song they are to chant "Des-th" but even that neads explaining nothing is ever easy with Babymetal, they like to play with things especially words there sounds and meanings they noticed that when introducing themselves in Japanese saying the word "Des-th" ("I am") it sounds very much like the English word "DEATH" they liked that so for the fans part in this song it would be in English to chant "DEATH" repeatedly, all so that is were they got the song title as well it is not just *DEATH* the song title is *BABYMETAL DEATH*. Well that is it for the lyrics in this song they would do this twice then the music go's crazy good and the girls run around all over the stage interacting with the fans and geting them up on there feet bouncing and geting the fans chanting "Death Death Death Death Death Death" they would keep this going for a time ending up in one big chant from everyone of "BABYMETAL DEATH" a big explosion lot's of pyrotechnics end of introduction song everyone ready let the show begin. But this time BABYMETAL DEATH was not played at the opening of the concert it was at the very end of the concert the last of a five song encore, so why move this song from the opening to the end of the concert, well the (LEGEND 1997 CONCERT) was a special one from the beginning to the end but we are not geting it to that now this is about one song in it and of course it had a special role to play in this concert but one all bye it's self, the concert was named LEGEND 1997 because that was the year SU-METAL was born on the 20/12/1997 this concert was on the 21/12/2013 the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday and as SU said once "this was her birthday party concert and that all the fans coming to her party to help her celibrate her 16th birthday was the best gift that she had received that year". So what was this songs role to be at this concert, well like it says in the opening monologue "receiving the legendary corset from the god of the Metal she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess", now how did that work like this, the smoke that appears around SU's feet before she collapses was to put her to sleep, the crucifixion is the abandoning of being human but not before receiving the legendary corset (the neck brace), the scream her rebirth as a Goddess, and the chanting of "Death Death Death Death" with crossed kitsunes (the Fox sign) that is the army giving there Goddess her power, first Yui and Moa face the army and receive there power then they turn around and give that power to SU-Metal for she was never to be just a Goddess SU is a METAL GODDESS, she is our Queen, our Goddess. "All hail our QUEEN". "All hail The GODDESS of Metal". *SU-METAL*. Bye the way #NotaCult, most definitely #NotaCult and anyone claiming different will be dragged in front of your Goddess and thrown into the pit of frogs or if you catch her on a bad day she will just burn you. 🤘🦊🤘

The title of the song is actually a pun. It's the first song of their first album and they are litteraly presenting themselves. There're saying "Su-Metal desu", in japanse, which means "I'm Su-Metal", desu being prononced without the final u which is silent, which makes the word sounds like english death. Which ties with Su's death at the end ^^

So as AnOldYoungGuy eluded to (that was the translation you asked for), Suzuka Nakamoto, the JPOP idol was crucified and reborn as the metal goddess Su-Metal. Thus the scream. She was reborn at that moment. The neck brace is a tribute to the xJapan drummer who used to headbang so hard during performances that he at one point gave himself a whiplash and had to wear a neck brace.

Yes, this is the first track on their first album, but the last song performed at this show. The only lyrics are the girls introducing themselves, and they're saying "desu" (pronounced "des", without the "u") after each name, which is basically translated to "I am [name]". At most future shows, this opened the show, but without the crucifixion scene.

Also, notably, Japanese does not have the "th" sound, so the English word "death", rendered in Japanese, sounds identical to "desu" (to be). Thus "Babymetal Death" = "It is / We are Babymetal". Also dunno if anyone told you before, but Babymetal (ベビーメタル bebiimetaru) is only two dots away from heavy metal (ヘビーメタル hebiimetaru). Puns are strong with Babymetal :P

From reddit: "Death and rebirth. The first time Su was crucified was on her 15th birthday. Moa and Yui had been captured by their enemies, the evil idols of Akiba (they used to have very heavy lore in their concerts), and had been sentenced to die by crucifixion. Su put herself on the cross in their place. Her soul burned for 7 days and then was taken by the fox god and she was reborn as a half-goddess. She started the next concert on the cross and then came off of it. The second time was on her 16th birthday. This time, the fox god had told her that the fight against evil was burning out her humanity and she would have to be reborn again as a full goddess, again via crucifixion. Just before it, she sang a piano-only version of "Akatsuki," during which she was mostly on the floor. She stood painfully at one point and then collapsed again, showing the toll that the war was taking on her humanity. Plus she knew what was coming next. At Tokyo dome, all three of them came up on crosses on the second night. The whole concert was a throwback to the old days with silly lore (lots of Star Wars puns and the like), so the cross opening was probably just an homage to their own lore. Finally, on Su's 20th birthday, she was again crucified, this time on a circular construct (a circle with two X's, XX for 20). The concert, Legend S Baptism XX, appeared to be taking place in the underworld. If I remember correctly, she was being reborn again as a higher level goddess. Moa has also leveled-up, and has managed to do it without being crucified. She's always been the sneaky-smart one."

What they sing in Japanese "Babymetal desu" "Su-metal desu" means just "We are babymetal" "I am Su-metal". This is a wordplay depending on the fact that Japanese word "desu" and English word "death" have very simlar pronunciation. They used to bring this song to the opening and used it as a self-introduction, but unfortunately, they haven't played this song since Yui resigned babymetal in 2018.

Who needs a birthday party and presents for your sixteenth birthday when you can be crucified by your friends and colleagues in front of thousands of fans? BTW: NOT A CULT!!! 🤣🤣🤣 (In regards to crucifying the lead singer, I refer you to several of Alice Cooper's concerts in which he has been hung, electrocuted in the chair, and guillotined - just another day in shock rock 😁) And there it is - another "WTF?!" moment! BABYMETAL is good for that! You really should react to their second MV, "Iine!" then you'll REALLY be going "WTF?!". Finally, to be honest with you, I would suggest not trying to figure out BABYMETAL songs: chances are you'll be wrong because you're dealing with a totally different culture and language. Just go with it, don't try to interpret it. 🙂 Another thought would be for you to look up the English translation to BABYMETAL songs before you do the reaction video - that might be helpful. Personally, I don't worry about it too much; I view the human voice as just another instrument, like a violin or a flute. Besides, with most metal bands, you can't understand most of what they're singing (screaming) anyway. KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

I don't believe she is - and her mascara running was from the previous song ('Akatsuki' unfinished version). She said in an interview that she was enjoying this concert so much and then she found herself hanging on a cross thinking "Oh, is it all nearly finished already?"

I don't think she is either. Although she has worn a cross I think that was just a style choice. Hiroshima and Nagasaki do have a higher amount of Christians then other Japanese cities because they were big Port cities that missionaries landed at. But faiths that send missionaries are pretty hard-core and I don't think Suzuka's family would have allowed her to be crucified for people's entertainment if they were Christian.
