His delicacy and control are phenomenal. A small note too - his microphone use is so professional! From almost whispering into the mike to bringing it out when he crescendos - powerful and precise. The pain you heard appears to be the lament he sings for the original singer who died about 14 years ago. I agree that he is technically one of the - scratch that - he is the best singer in the world!

As professionals in the music business, you may be interested in Dimash creating a new style of singing. He does that in his different versions of "Know". In the premiere version at New Wave 2019 he blended western singing styles (classic opera and jazzy scat) with central asian resonance and ornamentation techniques, and the result was already fantastic. In later concert versions known as Ascolta La Voce or Vocalise he extended that singing over thecentire length of the performance, omitting the lyrics altogether.
