"A dark yet playful vibe." Man, just from the first few seconds you already nailed it. The general idea of this track is that the piano and chello each represent a part of the spirit of death. The Piano jumping in notes like the playful lamb, and the chello looming over the track as a stalking wolf.

Kind of ironic considering that Wolf is actually the more playful one and Lamb is the one that is more serious. Their design is just so perfectly done. They're both one, yet two. They're opposites, yet they belong together, they're even implications and references of each other. One being, split into two. Two beings, bonded as one. That are the Kindred.

Kindred are two beings, the white lamb and the black wolf, they are the personification of death viewer by the many cultures of Runeterra differently, the passive piercing arrows of the lamb or the chase of the hungry wolf is yours to decide, but everyone at some point meets the Kindred, and their demise.

Lamb is blind and wolf is deaf. Lamb wears a wolf mask and wolf wears a lamb mask. Lamb understands but does not feel, wolf feels but does not understand. Lamb is physical, wolf is spiritual. Lamb calls, wolf strikes. They're oppsites that complete each other, fitting since they were once one being that split itself in 2 because it was lonely and they do say opposites attract(ironic that they're called kindred spirit when kindred spirits are 2 people that are extremely similar). Also funny how one of the cutest looking legends is also one of the most powerfull(if not the most powerfull). Kindred spirit is a concept(that being death), they have true immortality unlike other legends(even for the likes of aurelion sol). Like lamb said "if it draws breath, it meets us" meaning even immortal beings fall at the hands of lamb and wolf some day.

The Kindred is the personification of death in League of Legends, just like the Grim Reaper. Lamb, the white entity with a bow, represents the Piano. It offers a calm and swift end for those who accept their own fate. While Wolf, the floating one, represents the Cello. It offers brutal and harsh end for those who run from their own fate. At the first part, you can hear the dual notes of the Piano played in quarter notes, symbolizing Lamb skipping synchronously, while you can hear Cello in a dynamic variance, symbolizing Wolf is floating around. At the latter part where the tempo became faster, both of them already found their "Hunt" and they are chasing it and killing it at the end. Edit: Probably, In the middle, where the Cello solo part, Wolf asks Lamb to tell him a story.

Certified lore nerd here: -Kindred is if the concept of death became a being, and then split into those who accept/embrace death (lamb) or those who prefer to cling to life until their last breath (the wolf). -Kindred was once just a concept of death or more likely a god of death that was probably the strongest being in the world, which made it lonely, especially because most people don't want to die. So it decided to split itself in two so it would always have a friend. -The lamb is the physical being that can hear but not see, the lamb also doesn't have emotions or feelings, they have a bow as a weapon, they are the one that remembers and thinks between the two. The wolf is more childish, he is an apparition that follows the lamb, he can see but not hear, is always hungry and happy to munch down on souls of those who run from death. -Their whole thing is that they only really appear when someone is about to die and take their soul away, or if someone is seeing visions of their death so they only appear trough poems and dramatic plays written by the types of people who think about their deaths a lot. -Different cultures all over the world recognize some part of kindred in many different ways but the connection to death is always there. -Some cultures who believe that you should die an honorable warrior's death for example only recognize the wolf. -My personal take on the music theme for this champion is a short story about someone (likely the solider that's dead in the splash-art) recalling their life as it flashes before their eyes only to meet kindred and due to the energetic bit at the end they most likely chose the wolf, and we could hear the chase until the solider ultimately dies and the Kindred walk off to collect the souls of others on the battlefield. And my favorite part is that depending on how you listen you can hear either the wolf or the lamb be the one who the solider chose, making it the coolest theme for lore nerds like myself. -Definitely one of my favorite Champions when it comes to lore and theme but they are not good as actual playable characters unless you have 100+ hours to invest into learning what is essentially a character who will always be mediocre at their best.

Wolf however, is deaf in the sense that he can’t comprehend emotions. He’s like a baby, he doesn’t understand. That’s why whenever wolf asks a question, lamb answers as if he wolf is deft and lamb is explaining. Hope this makes sense.

I don't play a lot of Kindred in game but it's my favorite character lore-wise and their theme makes so much sense when you know who Kindred are (It's the case for every champion theme actually, they do a great job capturing the essence of a character and transpose it into music).

Right, so Kindred are one of Runeterra's personifcations of Death. They specifically embody the Kill: With Wolf representing denying death, trying to run from it or fight it, and Lamb representing acceptance of death. They are the most widely known and worshipped spirit god in Runeterra, with several depictions of them. The version you see here (their base game version) is the Southern Freljordian depiction of The Kindred. Lamb is cold and logical, clean and quick, and very emotionally dulled Wolf is raw emotion, he's naive and innocent, but also very passionate. He also, in contrast, is very simple minded and not very knowledgeable. They are two halves of a whole, and complete eachother. Haha, so very close to elements of the composition you referred to :D. There are several myths regarding their origins, each with a common factor. One version is a Pale Man with Dark Hair who was very lonely and though all must meet him, everyone shunned him. This man took an Axe and split himself in two so he'd never be alone. Another version speaks of a Pale Rider on a Dark Beast. All who met him died. As the rider happened across a path, he noticed it led to a fork. One path leading towards a city of light, the other through a deep darkness. He took an axe by the tree that split the paths, and split himself in two so he might travel both paths. Reaching the end, both halves reunited and deemed themselves changed, despite having started out the same. They decided to remain as such, so they'd always be together, and never alone. There is a deeper truth to these myths, one that mortals are not privy to. Mortals have no conception of the Kindred truly being one cohesive singularity... there is always a duality to them. It is only Fiddlesticks who refers to them as a true singularity, and it's something done (as said by the writers) to further express its age, it refers to them as "The Grey Man." This figure may be Death in full, and be another member of The 10 (Fiddle's group). Hope this helped :D. I hope you do Camille and Aurelion Sol next. :3

@@XxXDemonhunter Yh, Primordial entities. Theyre presented to be the primal embodiment of concepts fundamental to Runeterra's existence. Fiddlesticks is the only member of the 10 currently active, and it is the embodiment of Fear. We've had strong implications that two others are Pain and Joy... which has lead many to believe that at least 4 other primal emotions/feelings/passions are represented: Love, Hate, Hunger, and Anger. Then 3 concepts that seem to be more integral/foundational in nature (since the 10 are represented as an inner ring of 3 inner circles, and an outer ring of 7 circles)... I personally attribute them to potentially being Life, Death, and Time/the experience in between.

My favourite champion from League! 💖 This track has always been one of the best for me, and the instruments fit the character perfectly. I always imagined the graceful piano being Lamb dancing across the battlefield, while the low cello is like a deep growl in the back of Wolf's throat when he hunts (or maybe his stomach rumbling 😆). The instruments complement each other so well, taking their turns but still working together, and never overshadowing the other. Just like Kindred themselves when stalking their mark!

I love this song because its actually a beautifully played duet, and yet at the same time its not a duet at all. The Piano plays the Lamb and the Cello the Wolf, but there is a third entity inside of the music, one not represented by an instrument and yet it is the entire song, one incredibly weak being yet just as integral to the Kindred as the Lamb and the Wolf are: the Prey. The Lamb and Wolf are hunters of death and so they hunt everything that dies. You can hear it especially in the second half of the song near the end, it sounds like the Lamb and the Wolf found something and started chasing it down without remorse. It’s a really well made piece and I love it so much.

I like how you often can give a rough description of a character just by listening to the music. And you were rather close. The white one is a lamb and the floating black hair is a wolf. They're like a grim reaper of league of legends. When they have someone to kill they give them a choice . They can either go willingly and lamb will finish them quickly, or they can try to escape/fight and wolf will rip them to pieces

Riot has an entire record label, not even joking, they actually just went ahead and made a record label because they publish so much music, the orchestra is also theirs, the great part is how a lot of the people that make the music play the game as well, so you can feel the effort they pour into each of the compositions, ensuring that it's not just a piece of music to listen to, but a suitable composition to explore the mind/mood of the character in question, like Kindred's being calming but also sporadically violent to signify the duality of lamb and wolf, or the craze of Viego's theme, going from lone and sombre, to beautiful and calming, to tragedy, back to lone and sombre and then a full descent into madness. You can tell that the people behind the music really care a lot about their work and the characters they're trying to bring to life.

OH! Btw, since they just teased new "Project" themed skins, I was thinking it would be cool if you reacted to the "Project" theme songs. I think there are 5 so far: 2015: Overdrive | PROJECT Animated Trailer - League of Legends (music only exists, but not on official LoL channel) 2016: PROJECT: DISRUPTION | Skins Trailer - League of Legends 2017: PROJECT: Hunters | Login Screen - League of Legends 2018: Outsiders | PROJECT: Reckoning Animated Trailer - League of Legends and PROJECT - 2021(2021) (music only, but not on the official LoL channel yet) The musics are usually super cool! And the animated trailers are cool to watch, if you are interested. I recommend those themes as well, besides the reactions to champion themes. However, besides the 2017 one, I don't think the other ones have a "music only" video on the LoL channel. They are animated trailers or skins trailers, so there are sound effects and voice lines in the middle. For that reason, I recommend the 2017 "PROJECT: Hunters | Login Screen", or the new 2021 one (not in the official channel yet, but super cool music), for a reaction video ^^ They also have individual Project theme songs for some champions, like Ashe or Master Yi. But that could be for a next video... haha

The Kindred are the physical embodiment of death, basically the grim reaper. They are composed of 2 entities, the lamb, who is white, nimble, precise, calm and forgiving, responsible for the passing of those who accept their death, giving them a swift end with an arrow from the bow, and the wolf, black, ghostly, impatient, forever hungry and brutal, responsible for maulling and devouring those who try to run or fight back their inevitable end. They wear each others mask to represent their duality, like some yin yang iconography. The music piece represents that by having a precise and fast piano, swift and clean like lamb, and an agressive, raspy cello, violent and brutal like wolf. It's either peacefull with the realease of the lambs arrow or fast passed, discordant and stressfull like beeing chased by wolf, an dat the end, wolf catches up.

The champions are basically a lamb and a wolf, the lamb is humanoid and each of them use the mask of the other, meaning wolf has a sheep mask and the sheep has the wolf mask. They simbolize both sides of death, the painful one and the tranquility one... like a yin yang. And this is the most popular form of them around Runeterra, it may changes depending on where they are.
