Enjoyed your topics and thoughts on this one. I like the way you talk. You done pulled out that old ‘Funky Cold Medina’, I slept on that one. Dig the darker beat you played & made at the end there. Keep on keepin’ it on. 🎧🎙🎹🎛🧨💥

@@JOHNG_TV For the record, this is my 1st time replying to a reply, from someone who I commented on, ever. I do appreciate the dialogue. In terms of what I use, (all or in part) it goes like this; 1x Tech 1200, 1x Tech M5G 1210, DFAM, Grandmother, Drumbrute, OP1, ApogeeOne , A&H Zone db4, ZoomH6, H9max, MK3, glass bottles, a Speak&Spell, and a maple Tama SLP snare drum with a wooden hoop.

@@JOHNG_TV Yes yes y’all. Glass bottles of various shapes & sizes filled with sand, rocks, pieces of metal...act as shakers; when filled with water at different levels, you can strike them with wooden utensils & drumsticks of various shapes. Also, striking wooden boxes and metal lids of sorts, puts out that snap and super crisp hit. The Speak&Spell has funky sound efx & good for acronyms, that can be played a letter at a time or inna loop. The ZoomH6 I use when I’m out & about or in the woods to capture water & tree trunk sounds as they sway and crack. Also, ropes & chains that tighten, flex and clank. Many times I just record out live from the Zone mixer into an sd card; then go chop & mix it up after the fact, like puzzle pieces. The apogeeOne collects dust for now, gotta learn it and how to put it into the mix. I plan on using it for live recording my snare, vocals and whatever else might be laying around. I’ve been a bedroom DJ for a long time, just been getting into the production game in the past couple of years. I mostly enjoy using hardware and analog sources. Only minimal Mac use, when necessary, to put it all together. Trying to tell an aural story with natural & synthetic sounds mixed together. We’ll see. Just riffs, phrases & beats for now, the master pieces await. You’ll be the 1st to know.

Sounds like you've come across a producing format that's the right fit for you. Nothing wrong with that. If it works for you than it's right for you. You might want to start looking at a Slate Raven as your next gear goal.

24 and record techno onto tape with a old boom box. I failed music tech in high school cuz I hated daws and was totally uninspired trying to make music with a mouse and keyboard. Dawless all the way.

Okayyy wow soooo question...how did you get into music making? Rather how did you figure out your way of making music?

I always loved making strange noises with synths and am inspired by early 90s techno as well as really early electronic music, like Oskar sala and Raymond Scott stuff. I try to shoot for a sound like Stanislav tolkachev mixed with Jeff mills, it’s a lofty goal for sure.
