Great reaction! What a queen! The chorus of this song in English is: "I love you very much / Oh so very much, you know / It’s now a chain / That melts the blood / inside our veins, you know."

What's amazing about Amira is she makes it look so easy yet it is highly difficult. And of course her voice is just magic. An incredible talent!!

Hello Squirrel ! A nice reaction as usual, and, as usual too, a very beautiful and moving interpretation by Amira 😊. "Caruso" was written in 1986 by Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Dalla. The album was recorded in New York. The song deals with the death of tenor Enrico Caruso, and with the little coastal town of Sorrento near Naples (Surriento in Neapolitan language), where he lived his last weeks, and met his last love in 1921. It was definitely a romantic and nostalgic piece of music. By the way, many of Caruso's greatest performances were at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the reason why the song speaks about America. Here are the Italian lyrics and the translation of the two verses that Amira sang : Qui dove il mare luccica e tira forte il vento Su una vecchia terrazza davanti al golfo di Surriento Un uomo abbraccia una ragazza dopo che aveva pianto Poi si schiarisce la voce e ricomincia il canto. Here where the sea shines, And the wind blows strong On an old terrace In front of the Gulf of Surriento A man hugs a girl, After she cries Then he clears his throat, And starts to sing again. Saw the lights in the middle of the sea, thought of the nights there, in America, but they were only fishing lights and the white wash of a propeller. Felt the pain in the music, stood himself up from the pianoforte but when he saw the moon come out of a cloud even death seemed to him sweeter. Looked at the girl in the eyes, those eyes green like the sea, then, all of a sudden, a tear came out and he thought he was maybe drowning.

I believe it's supposed to be a letter from Caruso to his wife from his death bed. So in a way it is a love song too. The pianist is Dr Charls du Plessis who is Steinway 's south African representative. The best are more than happy to work with Amira. This was part of her 2020 streamed concert, which she put out in the pandemic, to keep her hand in. There are a few others from that concert I'd like to hear, but aren't on YT. yet.

In 2020 Amira walked into a South African music shop to buy a piano. While there she spontaneously sang Caruso while the shop owner played the piano. Amira also bought a Music Mouse picture being painted by the owner's wife. Still on You Tube. I think you will like it.

Another great reaction squirrel to the young lady with the voice of an Angel. You have reacted to Amira performing Ave Maria, but I have another one for you. Please note that this Ave Maria is one you probably have never heard and it is, in my opinion, far superior to the one you reacted to. In this performance, Amira was just 11 y.o & is arguably her best ever video. Details are: Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church. It is a performance full of passion & singing from within, creating a long lasting feeling of beauty & serenity & is certainly one that every Reactor should react to. Cheers Graeme
