His voice and the bassline bits in this song really standed out to me. I'd interpret the line "Hey girl, with your head in the clouds" as his love interest possibly displaying an inattentive/distractible behaviour in their casual relationship, as if she doesn't show much interest to notice/acknowledge/reciprocate his attempts to get her full romantic attention. I guess it's kind of a bittersweet song where he shares his colorful feelings when she's around him mixed with some frustration derived from the unfulfilled desire of having a tighter emotional connection with her. So, if my interpretation makes any sense, I think your mixed feelings when listening to this song seem very appropriate. And, yes, it was another very nice reaction :) Thanks, Sir!

"Head in the clouds" is an old idiom that typically (in my 40yr old opinion) described someone who was always daydreaming or not paying attention. Head in the clouds, not paying attention to the world around them. Head in the clouds and feet on the ground as they say (keep dreaming but stay grounded). Thanks for listening! Would highly, highly recommend checking out his live performances over the studio versions :)
