@@dvda9725 The way the album starts with smile just sets the whole thing off. I remember when I first got the album. I was hooked. Their second album is ok but after that they changed a lot. But to this day I still put their CD in when I'm driving (my car is old AF and when I really like A band I Still buy their physical copy. I'm 41 so I still love opening up a new CD and looking through the sleeve. I fell like now that music is all digital people don't appreciate it as much as they did back when the only way to access it was through buying the CD or catching it on the radio by chance. @@buddykaiser2380 For real man, Stephen's aggression and the instrumentals are absolutely killer all throughout the album, I love how in pretty much every song the instruments just deck you in the face out of nowhere, it sounds so raw and loud. I love Welcome as well, but that's more of an album to listen to when you're in the mood for more melodic nu metal, whereas Gift makes you want to go nuts and break shit. I usually listen to them back-to-back if I got the time, but you can definitelly tell the difference when you switch to album 2. I'm with you on the physical copies too, I'm 26 but if I like an album I'm buying that CD, and I'll never own a car without a CD player built in.

@@dvda9725 if I'm not mistaken I remember watching an interview where Stephen talked about their new album coming up. I'm not sure if it came out yet or not. Apparently it's mostly him who writes their music at least these days. I'm not even sure if any of the original members are still in the band other than him. I grew up right in the middle of the Numetal wave so to speak. I remember hearing Korn for the first time when I was 12 or 13 in either late 94 or early 95. From that point on I was hooked. I remember getting into Deftones because of Korn (I don't care what people say, Deftones was a Numetal band) and then stuff like Coal Chamber and early Limp Bizkit with 3 Dollars Bill Y'alls, and System of a Downs first album. There were so many great bands that were coming out back then. Then Slipknot hit in 99 and Mudvaynes LD 50 not too long after as well as stuff like Kittie and Primer 55 who's second album is definitely slept on. So yeah, Numetal was my formative years for sure. I live in Baltimore Maryland in the states and we used to have this music festival called HFStival every summer for a while and it was great seeing all the alternative bands along with some Numetal bands. The first time I was supposed to see Slipknot was at that festival but something happened to where they couldn't make it. It was on their Self titled album tour so it really sucks they didn't show for whatever reason. I've seen them every album cycle since except for TESF but I would have loved to see them during Self Titled album tour.
