This song was written by Chris with Clint Ingersoll. He says he was obsessed with the mandoline at that time & wrote it on that "in the old EMI writer rooms on 16th Ave." I believe that would have been his 1st year in Nashville, 2001, because that's where he met his wife, Morgane (pron. Morgan). She is also a talented singer/songwriter & she's usually on stage with Chris singing backup. (BTW there are apparently 2 songs titled "Sometimes I Cry". One is by Gerald Crabb, a gospel singer & it's about the death of a loved one.)

He used his music writing to "pay the bills" so he could make and preform the music he wanted to. He played in rock and blue grass bands. He wrote songs for Adele "If It Hadn't Been for Love", " Don't Start Lying to Me Now" for Joss Stone, and countless country singers. I saw him live and his just as amazing, His show is for music lovers simple and to the point but more moving then 99%
