They did do a full concert for that show and they told the audience that they were doing a music video that's why they had the extra cameras but the song was dubbed for the from the album for the music video

I really wish we had at least one track off of S.C.I.E.N.C.E.; hope we get some A Crow Left of the Murder cuts. Happy to send another list your way if you want to do a second (even third) set of 6 from this incredible band. I promise, there are even better songs being left behind, including some phenomenal live sets.

I believe they were touring when it was time to release a video for this single, and ended up just taking concert footage, and syncing it to the official single/album version. Can assure you they nail this, and every track, live. Not a single missed beat, or wrong note.

I get that you guys do songs that have videos to them, but so far, this selection really only shows Incubus as a basic radio alt rock band. They are far more. They have beautiful jazzy songs, experimental prog songs, etc. They even have prog epic with 4 different movements. The guitarist went to Harvard to study music theory. They’re far more than these 4 songs have shown so far.

But if I’m showing someone who’s never herd incubus, or has any background in musical knowledge, I’m for sure not going to throw on Pendulous Threads and stare at them the whole time while they try to understand what Jose is doing in the beginning. Pardon Me was my first hit, and make yourself is what ultimately sealed the addiction.

I know I'm late to the party but I'm a Incubus super fan so I was glad to find your page. The origin of this song is that on tour, Brandon had the feeling like his hand was asleep non stop for 5+ days and when it went away, his wrote this song. That's why he talks about "Pins and needles".

This music video was actually filmed here in my town during their opening tour for Morning View. I was there and it was amazing. If I remember right it was their first song they played. They made an announcement they will be filming the music video and they did. The music in the video is definitely not from the concert, but the live version from what I remember was really good. Been a long time though! Keep up the good videos. Really enjoy them.

I’ve listened to Incubus for a LONG time, and this is easily one of my favorite songs they have ever done. It is incredibly musically interesting to me. I haven’t listened to them for a while… so thank you for renewing my love for them! I’ll be listening to them again!!

Katunich has used the stage name of Dirk Lance, which was apparently taken from the credits of a pornographic film from the 1970s. If you go back and listen to their album S.C.I.E.N.C.E you'll start to hear more shaft type funk rock so i always took it as a throwback to that. Even Fungus Amongus was heavier leaning into the psychhadelic funk rock and science upped the difficulty level. Then Make Yourself was the next evolution with Morning View somewhat carrying similar styles but still evolving. Theyve progressed over the years and imo mellowed out alot. Id recommend checking out Science for sure. Alot of really really good buried music in that album. Not alot of people know that stuff. Carry on!

Another Incubus favorite of mine is “Dig.” Brandon had this gift of being an “average singer” with his voice, while simultaneously able to be incredibly precise with his vibratos and progressions. It’s equals an insanely powerful and dynamic explosion of melodies and sounds.

Having seen these guys multiple times live through the years I can say that you are correct this is a studio recording. But your mind would probably be blown by just how good they are live. They are probably one of the most like the record bands live that has ever done it. They are all incredibly talented and put on an amazing show.

I noticed that you've never reacted to a Circa Survive song, which genuinely surprised me. If you're a fan of Tilian's voice I highly recommend Circa Survive. I'll give an honorary mention to Hail The Sun/Nova Charisma/Sianvar/Donovan Melero as well since he based his vocal style off of Anthony Green

Aaaand now I will never listen to that song without thinking of Cheers. 🤔 They have an entire unplugged set that is amazing. They sound awesome, as expected. Their album Make Yourself is one of the few I can listen front to back with no skips. "Consequence" and "The Warmth" are my faves. Agree with a few of these comments, these songs are rather "generic" across their entire catalog. There's a lot more to explore if you want.

You’re 100% correct, they didn’t track the audio to the video live.. however! I believe most of if not all of morning view (including Brandon’s VOX)was tracked LIVE in the studio. Incubus has always had a very organic sound, even the earlier stuff, but this album sounds like they were just in each other’s pockets. Also, this is their last album with this bass player.

I can speak from experience, though not with Incubus. I was in the audience when Rob Zombie filmed the live stuff for "Mars Needs Women". He got on stage and told everyone it was gonna be shot for the music video coming out and to go wild.

Have been watching your videos for a while and I have been pretty intrigued. If I have any suggestions for you to check out then I have to say the new My Chemical Romance single their first since 2014 Disclaimer: Maybe start with their bigger hits first from a decade ago because after multiple listens this is way different from a lot of their classics so maybe as a first listener I would suggest tracks from the black parade instead so I guess I will retract my suggestion on listening to the new single but Overtime maybe you can listen to their new single but overall it can be a hit or a miss for first time listeners, I just got pretty excited from the hype of the band returning

They have a DJ with 2 turntables of this track on vinyl, a dat and a digital beat mixer. What your reasons for assuming it isn't live aren't actually relevant. I am an average at best dj and i could easily pull off those accents with that equipment.
