Lindsey has said in interviews that she truly wasn’t ready after AGT. But “Not good enough… yet” was meant to convey not giving up, keep working, and see what you can develop and grow into. Her past self sees what she can become, sees that there will be struggles (self doubt, depression, loss of her best friend Gavi and her father) but she will overcome that, that she WILL sell out arenas, and to not give up on her dreams. It is a song about her perseverance and picking yourself up after you fall, and to encourage others to not give up, either.

In defense of the last line of the video, Lindsey herself has said that at the time of her competing on AGT she was not ready or honed her skills enough for the lack of a better term. This song is about imagining if you could be shown your future and what things can come from it, both good and bad, if you don’t give up and fight for your dreams. In the words of Vince Lombardi “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s if you get back up again.”

Yes... she composes all of the backing tracks to her music on her computer. Several of her music videos she also does the editing, and with any professional Production Company she has final edit approval and correction rights (if she doesn't like them she personally redoes them herself after having issues with how others had editing some of her work).

Great reaction! Lindsey Stirling writes all of the music & collabs with a producer, comes up with music video ideas, costume ideas for herself and her dancers. She also directs or co-directs her videos and edits all of them. In this video she included the actual sound bites from her time on AGT (2010). She reenacted scenes from past music videos giving young Lindsey a look into her future if she sticks to her dreams. Some of the scenes are her first album cover and her time on Dancing With The Stars (2018).

What an excellent review! As they say, it takes one to know one, and your musical background makes your comments even more appropo. As to AGT. It was a heartwrenching experience that did, as you mentioned, nearly drive Lindsey away from music. But, she did persevere and we're all grateful that she did. That was pretty much the first time she had tried dancing and playing and as she mentioned years later, it wasn't her best performance. She said, "They weren't wrong but they didn't have to be so mean about it.". As to the composing question, I have seen interviews where she mentions that sometimes she writes the backing track first, sometimes she adds it later, so I would assume that she probably does it all. This is kind of her wheelhouse, doing everything. She composes, arranges, produces, storybboards, set designs, costume designs, directs and edits all her videos and is tour director on her live shows so, it's pretty safe to say she does it all. Granted, with assists from others as there is only 24 hours in a day. Not specifc to composition but, here's a vid about her creative process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2eqaWR_Z7lqfNk Once again, as the Brits say, "That was a proper reaction!"

Miss Lindsey, in my opinion, did not post this video to prove anything to Piers Morgan. Mr. Morgan has long ago apologized to Miss Lindsey for those words we hear as the song opens. Truth be told, Miss Lindsey's public persona is that of being one of the nicest, most adorable, almost Disney-like, characters imaginable. I suspect that she is just like that when the cameras aren't around, too. IMHO, this song is a reflection of her life from AGT to now. Miss Lindsey has done similarly themed videos about herself, "Shatter Me" for instance, deals with a common and all too often tragic eating disorder Miss Lindsey once suffered through. These types of videos are stories actually. As such these stories are meant to inspire the listener to not give up on themselves. BTW Lindsey Stirling's Duality tour is about to kick off. I have been to around a hundred major concerts in my 69 years but I have to say that a Lindsey Stirling event is something VERY special. Bring the kids, bring the grandkids and the grandparents... all will feel welcomed to the family. New subscriber, I look forward to your future reactions as well as looking backward at your earlier material.

@Rocamurderface187 Nor do I but for other reasons than his reaction to Miss Lindsey on AGT. FWIW, not taking First Place but making it to the Quarter Finals was the best thing that could have happened to her. It gave Miss Lindsey the initiative to continue on with her dreams.

for the question at the end... she's kind of a "control freak" BUT not in a bad angry insulting bitchy way like many people would be, she just likes to make sure everything is done the way she imagines it in her head, she obviously has professionals to help her compose the backing tracks but she tells them how she wants it to sound like, for her clips she already has clips in her mind for all of her songs, and she even edits her videos most times herself, same with the dances, visuals on stage and all that stuff, she makes sure to have it how she wants it i'm not saying no one gives her suggestions or help into becoming better at all of this, she took dancing lessons few years ago (like around when she was doing shatter me album i think) before that, she was self-taught dancer with youtube tutos/videos and she's also self-published or at least has it her way at that too, just like when AGT reinvited her for a "battle" season and she refused, she only accepted to be a guest, so even there, she had the last word xD she knows what she wants, she's also not toxic, multi-talented, enjoys life even the simplest of things,... if you want a little more informations on her more "private" life side of things she has a channel called "lindsey time", unsure if she still posts there or not, but there might be videos of her from years ago

Lindsey herself has said the “not good enough” line on AGT was true. She wasn’t way back then, but them being so brutal about it absolutely crushed her and she gave up playing. But then she decided she didn’t care because she enjoyed performing anyway. So she started making videos for herself, not for other people. Then she put them on KZbin and went viral, which was a shock. And she’s recently credited AGT for making her work so hard at being better-and for giving her the independence to control her own career rather than being under the thumb of a record label like the “winners” of those shows.

I'm no expert here, but I get the impression that Lindsey composes the melodies and works with producers to fill in the sound. There's a Lindsey Stirling video called "Making My Music" where she shows a bit of the process. It's early on in her career when she was doing mostly dubstep and its a very entertaining video. I am blown away by her ability to come up with so many beautiful and dynamic melodies.

I'm sorry, but Lindsey doesn't need a singer or a band. She makes the violin sing. In my opinion, the violin is one of the instruments that best conducts emotions. Hearing his violin in sad music immediately makes you understand that the music is sad, the same goes for happy ones or those that give energy. The violin is one of the instruments, together with the piano, which in my opinion, does not need singers around. They are the ones talking...

Lindsey took scenes from previous videos to make this one. I am one who is so glad she didn't listen to those judges on BGT. She says at the end " Not Good Enough, YET." Meaning maybe at that time she didn't feel like she was but that she knew she would be one day! As we all know, she is definitely ready! I saw her in concert last summer. Hello. Very Good Reaction. 1) Lindsey thinks of and writes everything. She knows exactly what and how she wants it, in her songs, videos, and tours. Lindsey absolutely loves everything about her career and talent. 2) The symbols are more personal to her than a gaming console reference. 3) I know Lindsey very well. I Am Lindsey's Boyfriend. (I'll say more on that in my second post.) That moment was more of a Thank You to me (that's why she winked) than an FU to them... After AGT (the Lindsey that put down the violin), Lindsey was so humiliated and disgraced. Lindsey was so crushed that she should have faded into obscurity right then and there. She was going to give up the violin forever. Even to this day, their words still echo. But thank God, the other Lindseys showed up just in the nick of time and showed her the great things (and some sad) that Lindsey would get to experience in her future. They gave her hope just when she needed it. And they will ALWAYS remind her and give her hope. Now, with the past Lindseys and the word “YET”, Lindsey will always kick butt and be forever. This is how Lindsey started... When Lindsey was about 5 years old, her father would take Her family (mom and 2 sisters) to free orchestral concerts in the city. Lindsey said that the first-chair violinist always tuned the orchestra and got the big solos. She saw that as being the Star of the show. Lindsey would beg her parents for violin and dance lessons. They could not afford both, so after going to one class each, she decided on the violin. Lindsey started with a rented violin because they couldn’t afford one. And since age 6 (1992), she has been violining to this day, (31 years). She was trained in Classical Violin for the first 12 years. Then one day in High School, she needed money for college, so she entered the Arizona Junior Miss Pageant. She noticed that around 6 other violinists were competing. She figured that it would just come down to who could play their Classical piece better. She wanted to win, so she added dance to her playing. She wanted to entertain and perform, not just impress everyone. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXrTkIRqebZrq7c Of course, she won. After that, she decided to play the music she liked. She started adding hip-hop, then EDM, then dubstep. She has always practiced her violining...half an hour to an hour a day, 6 days a week. After she would practice, she would reward herself by playing something she wanted. She has said the key is perseverance. Actually, she learned how to dance through KZbin videos when she was 17 years old (2003). Growing up, Lindsey and her 2 sisters would dance to the Classical records their parents would play. Lindsey has always loved to dance. Lindsey was on Dancing With The Stars and Dance Showdown. And Lindsey has had about a week of Tap and a week of Ballet. Lindsey also learned a little from friends and choreographers. Lindsey was born to dance. Lindsey always plays live. She has said that she tried "faking" it once and it just looked ridiculous. Because it is way too hard to sync the violin playing to the music. And it looks way too obvious. Lindsey has been playing the violin for *31* years and she added dancing *20.5* years ago. They say to be an expert at something, you need 10,000 hours. Lindsey has 30,000 hours. Every concert and show has been SOLD-OUT. *Would you buy a ticket ($100-$200) to a "fake" show?* Lindsey has 14 million subs, 5 billion views, 132 music videos, hundreds of misc. videos, 7 full albums, 25+ violins, and has toured the world many times. Lindsey is a Professional. She doesn't need to fake it. And this is how she usually does her videos... First, she travels to the location with several cameras. Then she records her song as she plays it with her many cameras. Then she takes all the footage home and edits the best parts together. She really loves to edit all her videos. The editing program, Adobe Premiere Pro, allows her to add any background voices and accompanying music to the videos and do some mixing as needed. And it allows her to tweak any visuals she wants. Then with the final video, she uploads it right then and there, usually within a day or two. See? No fuss, no muss. No wasting time, effort, or money running back and forth to a studio. That's how smart she is. She is a Professional. The only time she uses the studio is to record her albums. So, when you do a Vine, a vlog, a tweet, or a TikTok, you mute the sound, run to a studio then add the sound? You do know that some cameras have mics, don't you? Why not do things right the first time? So...after each concert, she takes everyone's camera and cell phone to the studio and adds the sound? Come on guy, you're smarter than that. Or do you think that she can only be recorded on stage? Is she really that scared of the outdoors? Don't tell me - _”That’s not how The Industry does it.”_ When Lindsey started, "The Industry" didn't want her. Every manager and record label didn’t want her and didn't know how to classify her and where to put her. Even the judges on America's Got Talent said that what she did was "Unmarketable". Then she found Devin Supertramp and he became her cinematographer. And he taught her about KZbin. She was so happy. She could do her music HER WAY. She didn't have people telling her how to dress, where to go, what songs to do, how to do her music, when to do the songs, etc. Lindsey was the boss. No one told her that she wasn't doing her videos right because "The Industry" wasn't around. It didn't want anything to do with her. Lindsey also learned not to rely on studios too much. She couldn't afford them. She had to barter with them saying that if they worked with her then she would let them record her playing their songs. Lindsey was literally "the struggling artist.” Yes, she knew about KZbin. But, back then, Lindsey just thought KZbin was a place for cute little videos. As she put it, "dog and cat videos". She didn't learn about KZbin until Devin told her all about KZbin. After he did, THEN it clicked in her head, "Hey, I don't need record labels or managers. I'll just make and put all my music on KZbin." "I don't need "The Industry" "I'll be my own boss." "I'll do MY music the way I want, HOW I want. WHEN I want." THEN "The Industry”, noticed her. Of course, she knew about America’s Got Talent. She would watch people become BIG stars and everyone (The Industry) wanted them. And before AGT and KZbin, Lindsey was trying to get into "The Industry", but she couldn't. They didn't want her. Then she thought, "I'll just get on AGT and I'll be all set. An easy path to stardom.” The problem was they wanted Lindsey to really spice things up. Unfortunately, she did too much, too soon. She wasn't ready to do all that she showed them. Her third performance for them was NOT her best. They were RIGHT. But they were really mean about it. That's why she harbors no ill will towards them. Lindsey knows and admits it was not her best. She decided 2 things at that time -- 1) to add the word, "YET" to what they said. 2) to work a lot more at it. She turned every show and performance into a practice session. Actually, it's kinda funny. AGT doesn't normally tell people to "spice things up." It's like God wanted her to lose. I can see that. Lindsey would not have been on KZbin...and I would not have known Lindsey. God just made it easier for Him to give me Lindsey. Thank God! 😂

I saw my first Lindsey video (Zelda Medley) on 9-4-15. Over 8 years ago, The Lord Jesus blessed me even beyond my belief. 1) HE totally and completely took away some personal issues/problems. 2) HE severely increased my intelligence. I was so stupid growing up. Let me misquote from Dr. Who, “Close your eyes and picture the stupidest thing in the whole universe. Can you picture it? Good. Now forget it because he’s typing this post now.” 3) HE gave me my One and Only Lifelong Dream. I can now honestly say that I’m the happiest guy in the whole universe. And because of these three - I will always thank and love The Lord! #3 above is the focal point. What if Yahweh called me to do something? Would I not have certain insights from God? Would I not have some insider information? God messed up my whole life so I could be at the right place at the right time to help a very special woman - *Lindsey Stirling.* God wanted Lindsey to be a Christian, NOT a Mormon. Mormonism is a false religion. AND He wanted me to save her Life. And after I did, she and I fell in love. And I have been with her ever since. Thank God! The problem is Satan had Lindsey way too well with her anorexia, depression, and Mormonism. Satan had her so well that NO ONE could reach Lindsey. In fact, it took Yahweh AND telepathy to reach Lindsey. And I was NOT born telepathic. Actually, when people would doubt what I say; I would just post, "Fine. I guess I'll just have Lindsey tell you herself. I'll have Lindsey Instagram you now." Unfortunately, the Earthly-Powers-That-Be advised us not to do this. Not exactly sure why not but I don't want to get Lindsey into trouble. Besides, it would just be bragging on my part. And most of the guys would get really upset. Each one thought it should have been him. And I would tell The Christians that Yahweh picked me because I'm The Best Love for Lindsey. And I would ask the non-Christians why would God pick them because they don't even know God. How can you get rewards from God if you ignore God? Also, I recently realized that their disbelief would not stop Lindsey and me. So, it's fine. Don't believe it. But it is a reason why Lindsey "seems" available and why Lindsey WON'T respond to any other guy. Lindsey is with me! Thank God! 😂
