Shawka - Hi and Great Reaction. I suppose it's your good earphones that allowed you to hear certain notes bending - perhaps easier than others. Before I reply to your questions, let me say that I am Not an expert in audio equipment or recording. Yet I have a good pair of ears. First, I agree with @johnbattles1002 that Everything Angelina does is intentional. If she doesn't pre-plan a delivery, then her improvisations are intentional - in an experimental mode. Second, her musical ear is beyond superlative - perhaps off-the-charts. I would not doubt that she can hear someone's recording once - and have both the cadence and the 'spirit' of the song immediately imprinted in her vast musical memory. Third, she can bend notes like no one else - AND she can combine at least 2 vocal effects at the same time (maybe more). This I have not heard others do. To prove any of this to yourself, listen to her younger recordings - made with simpler equipment. And check out the short TikTok videos, which she recorded on her phone! Happy Journeying! Jim

This is hardly a debut, her album “It’s Magic” was in the top 10 on the iTunes jazz album chart just a couple of days ago, and she made that album with the Norwegian Military Band more than 5 years ago. Is this her first album with Republic Records, yes, but she already has at least 2 originals with Republic Records before this single off her new album which should be released soon. Angelina’s journey is already incredible, there is no reason to embellish what is already unbelievable!

I think Republic Records were trying to adjust the release date due to other bigger singers release dates were probably too close to the original release of Angelina's date. Now that she released on her Instagram that she has a release date (she didn't give the exact date), we just have to wait for her next message to get the exact date!

You spoke of the James Bond movie vibe. You should hear Angelina's cover of the Bond song "Diamonds Are Forever" that she performed live at 12 years old at "Alsang pa Grensen," a Swedish-Norwegian border music festival. Wow! Also, her ORIGINAL song "Shield," which she wrote and performed on live Norwegian TV at age 12. She herself said that she intended a Bond-feel to it. It is simply beautiful!

Nice picks! A Swedish bolevard newspaper reprted from her that the album will have an 60's vibe. An EP is expected soon: she just teased on her Insta that she now knows the release date (but did not share it yet). It should have another five new songs on it. Her Spotify profile claimes that she will "fully define the scope of her artistery" with this EP.

Angelina has been known to introduce sounds in her singing that give the feel that you are listening to a an old analogue recording or record. She has a good ear for subtle sounds! This song is her most recent original, with more songs to follow shortly. Regarding the James Bond vibe, Angelina has spoken about this before, with her original song Shield. Shirley Bassey was an early influence, we can still hear it...

What's great about analogue is that sound is messy, and analogue picks that up, whereas digital breaks everything down into discrete quanta which are mathematically related. Our ears/brains are tuned to the messy real world and we notice something just isn't right about digital. It's a world reconstructed rather than simply mirrored.
@alberttenfoot
@alberttenfoot Жыл бұрын
@@fredneecher1746 Your explanation about digital is why I think sound engineers should be banished from the recording studio unless the artist specifically asks them to be there. To a degree, the "rot" started with the invention of the Compact Disk.

There are no actions left to accident with Angelina. You can also listen to a performance of hers several times and hear different and new things each time. Really appreciate your reactions to AJ, even if you keep hearing things no one else can. There are some recordings if her at her first experience in a recording studio (at age six). One of the songs she covered was "Skyfall", at six. She also did Adele's "Rollin' in the Deep". The most accurate and often viewed of her covers that day was Shirley Bassey's "I Who Have Nothing". I recommend that one to you. She never did shy away from the big songs.

Funny you mention James Bond. Angelina at 12 years old recorded and original called Shield. Best version is the indoor concert. No question it has a James Bond vibe. Angelina was interviewed prior to that performance and mentioned that she loves James Bond diamonds are forever. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and your genuine and insightful comments. I'm looking forward to your next one. Since you appreciate your featured artist, I'd like to share some important information that will benefit your KZbin algorithm as well as that of the artist. It will also elevate your channel to the next level. Realize that most viewers do not go to your description on their own and therefore miss your valuable information. I suggest making the effort to link not only the artist's original video but also their Official KZbin Channel and social media links. Most important is to direct them to your description and recommend that viewers like, share, comment, and subscribe to the artist, AND to your channel as well! Also suggest that the fans purchase and stream the artists music from their chosen platforms. These actions provide the artist deserved credit for their algorithm and also expose them to more people, the same as the goals for your channel. This also introduces the fans to your playlist and other critical links. It is a win-win for both. Be proud to help boost the analytics for each featured artist, giving them equal priority, and you should be rewarded with more fan loyalty and new subscribers. Peace and love.

I know you haven’t listened to a lot of Angelina yet, but she nails everything from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s. Her public debut to the world at 7 was Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. As Angelina got older (and I mean 8 or 9), she began to add much more of her own style elements to those older songs. Angelina always respects the original music, but makes songs her own. Her voice and vocal tools are so unique that you can recognize her immediately. Today’s song is an original with that 50’s vibe, but it has modern elements. Try something completely different and watch AJ give us 1960’s soul like you would never imagine. Her cover of James Brown’s It’s a Man’s World will stun you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnbQaKd9p898gc0 I remember you mentioning you liked jazz. Watch Angelina’s incredible jazzy take on Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean and ask yourself if there’s any other singer who could even attempt that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqGZaJ5vrNBlg9k😮

A great reaction and analysis. Many vocal coaches and teachers discuss the unique nuances and details of Angelina’s voice which show what an incredible singer she really is. A think a lot of people who are mesmerized by her voice don’t know what it is about her that makes her resonate so much with them. These reactions sometimes explain it.

The '50s actually ran on into the early 60s. It all changed around '63/'64, when the Beatles took over the world of pop. Peace, love and druggie songs came in soon after, from around '66/'67. It's interesting you picked up on that vibe. There's a lot of interesting stuff going on in the recording, quite apart from all the great stuff Angelina is doing. This is a song with real depth and many layers. I hope the charts pick it up soon because it's amazing.

I didn't hear anything special around "still on my skin". It might be because I am so used to her voice, or that I'm getting to old (early fifties). I downloaded the audio from the original video (the audio will of course be slightly altered during compression) and couldn't see any signs of peaking, and it was not the highest signal in the song. The track was normalized to reach max, but there was no flat curves where it reached max either. I am more used to working with voice over than music, but I don't think there was any peaking in the song.
