This video helped me a lot in understanding the open and closed position chords, as well as in writing each of the four parts. Great video!

Sorry - working to improve in more recent vids.

fyi for future recordings, the problem isn't so much that there's the occasional noise as the fact that your voice is much farther from the mic, so either it's too faint to hear, or the background noises are painfully loud

This actually helped me understand much more. I was so confused before this but this helped. Thanks!

Dr Watson I presume. Must say … glad you found me out here (via KZbin) in this jungle of music harmony ignorance and apathy. Proceed.

This helped so much!! My teacher hasn’t really been doing a good job explaining and just reading off the textbook. I’ve been struggling for the past two weeks and tried to ask for help but nothing has worked. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work! 🤗👏🏼

I have no doubt this is a super informative video, but that background noise is beyond distracing.

Sorry about that - I do know it's poor quality. I created these videos for my high school students and KZbin was just a way to get them out to the kids. But then I started getting lots of viewers watching and I wished I would have used better production value. I have "ipped my production game" since these early attempts. I hope you'll take a look at what I've done more recently :)

OK regarding the quality of the video. Yes, the audio is messed up, but people need to learn to see the view through the dirty windshield and stop being such entitled weaklings who can't get value from something like this. Such people are only doing themselves a disservice. You'll be better off if you toughen up. Toughen WAAAAAAAAY up.

Redo the video! You keep banging against your microphone which is distracting and annoying. Noise reduction app may help. Thanks

Sorry about that - I created this vid a long time ago, and at the time I had little experience with video production. My more recent videos have a higher production value. But hopefully there are still some who find the teaching helpful enough to overlook the distracting noise.

In this video and the audio quality is very poor. Please redo! there's all kinds of distracting background noise - scraping scratching and banging of the microphone. Why do people still produce youtube videos like this? Not caring about minimum level of quality for whoever is listening The information is good but hard to listen to. Please redo the audio c-

I know, and sorry! I created a bunch of these vids very quickly over the course of a few months in order to prepare for delivering music theory via blended learning at the high school where I teach. Although I wrote some theme music and a title at start of each, it's basically me talking in "real time" to my iPad :) If you want to see some of my more recent, more "produced," videos, check out ones such as this on the elements of music and why I think RHYTHM is the king of all the elements: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqfYg6WHjbSNe8k
