Could you explain why the milling table seems to wobble at around the 5 minute mark? It's constantly going left right. First thought I didn't look right. But it doesn't seem to be the camera. Any idea?

Rubber feet on the mill. It is not bolted down. :D

Really nice and useful project for the little Proxxon mill. I have one question for you FRT; at 4:40 you start the milling operation. The table wobble looks plain scary. Was this caused by your whole workbench wobble, was it a mill sliding on the table cause it isn't bolted down to anything? Or was it a X or Y axes problem? I hope it is the machine sliding on the bench, but I'm really excited to hear your replay. Cheers

Ha... just the rubber feet on the base of the mill reacting to the hand wheel jogging. Will eventually do a video on the mill... it is pretty solid and has very little play.

Was thinking that a small electric screwdriver would do the trick, though RPM control would be absent. You have any ideas?

@@RoomForTools I actually do. I was thinking of adding a closed loop stepper motor with a set of belt and pulleys. That Way the machine could keep the original manual functionality and still allow for more precise milling with x axis. I am thinking about one toggle switch for L / stop / R direction and one dial for feed speed control. That would probably be enough of controls. Ok, maybe adding the display where you could see the actual feed would be a nice addition. The other option, if you were considering to CNC it would be to use MPG hand wheel for any potential manual operation. Personally, I would prefer to keep my mill manual. I have a brand new HAAS VMC for the CNC side of things :)

Did you think the mitter saw could cut hardened steel 🤔 5/8 rod? And could the milling machine is capable of mill mild steel I am planning of making some punch die plates and they need some canal and groves to fit the aluminum profile in place for the punching die to go tru them and I need the cheapest milling machine I could get for know

Saw cut-off wheel would go through 5/8 hardened rod, but slowly and not very square. Milling machine will handle mild steel without a problem, just a tiny bite at a a time.

Thanks! Stops are Te-Co Nuzzler edge clamps. Very handy for such a small table, they can more-or-less act as a large capacity vice.
