Great video but what do you do to flatten down the lace flaps by the ears?

Home from ballet with a glass of fizz in hand. I’ve always been terrible at pin curls, I have thin hair but lots of it (that’s what my hairdresser tells me). Definitely picked up some tips here x

I've always wanted a good video on wig prep! It's so funny, I was thinking of making a video suggestion about it some time, but you read my mind! Wigs have always been a bit of a fascination of mine - how you manage to make them look so natural, that you almost can't believe it's a wig. :)

How can you not detect the wig I saw the joins and it made you wonder that no actor existed who had the right brown hair

Took me back to my theatre days working as a head of the wig Dept in Toronto🇨🇦. I miss working in theatre. I was trained in Bristol as a wig maker with Peter Owen. I now work in film and hair prep is different and the lace is cut right back because of high definition technology.But my training and experience in theatre since the 80s I now teach hairdressers all they need to work in film, as they don’t have, wig training and period hair styling👍🙏🏻❤️

Yeah I hate how theatre wigs are so detectable, to think of casting a blonde as a brunette when they in theatre just want to put everyone in unnatural hair whereas on screen we have bigger budgets yet limit only a few actors to a different look
@finakhan10382 жыл бұрын
@@dsmproductionsofficial131 Theatre wigs will only be detectable if there is no Orchestra pit to create a distance of 15 feet from the stage, and the colour of the lace does not match the skin colour.of the actress, The beauty of wearing a wig is you can choose any colour wig to crate a character, its done very often in film, I have a recent example first season a natural blond the producers wanted a brunette character so we coloured her hair, for the second season she wanted a wig to avoid the colouring to protect her hair from the processing and the hot tools. Wearing a wig for an extended period of time for a stage production is ideal as it save time as you will have days for wig maintenance and it takes 5-8 minutes to put on a styled wig once the actor is taught to do her own hair prep. I headed les miserable, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the beast, we will rock you, Jolson, Man of La Mancha, Christmas Carol, the nutcracker ballet to name a few,

Wow nice. I'm very interesting in musical theater, and have always been curious as to how they fit their hair under the wigs. I have super long thick hair (like nearly a meter long) so I'd probably have to use a different technique, but interesting video nevertheless!

As the hair has to attach to something and it’s the best way to give the correct hairline...I think. I will ask though!

As you are blonde why did they deliberately make the ensemble brunette just to give you a wig that’s detectable, wigs should be flawless and not obvious
