4:35 This is absolutely incredible. Many people don’t know how hard this truly is. There are rarely any pianists who can play the third movement of moonlight sonata without messing up or doing unexpected slow downs. The fact that he is playing that so well with no mistakes and at this part specifically doing it with both hands and improvising is outstanding.

You can hear the rage, hatred, and hurt in this interpretation, and I love it so much, you can hear the pain, grief, and suffering behind these notes. At least that is how I interpret this performance.

It does require an incredible amount of coordination, I have trouble a lot with bouncy baselines and shaky treble. It requires A LOTTTTT of practice for those types of transitions as well, it just takes a work for it to go out with a blast

Fur Elise and moonlight sonata are my two absolute favorite pieces of classical music and I absolutely love this take on sonata. The way I see it is fur Elise was a love letter to the person he adored and moonlight sonata was his response to the rejection of his letter and it's so beautiful to think about while listening to this (beautiful in a sad way I should say.) This rendition really adds a lot of emotional power to that idea as well!

Beethoven composed the first movement and went for a walk on a trail, to be able to think about what the second movement would look like. Meanwhile, Mozart entered Beethoven's house and composed the second movement. When Beethoven saw that, he got extremely angry and improvised the third movement. Historical fact-checking seal: 🆗
