Money For Nothing hit the airwaves on June 28, 1985 and Live Aid was a couple of weeks later on July 13th. A few of my college friends and I roadtripped it from south Georgia to Hollywood, Florida for that weekend. It was the peak of MTV and the 80s. Just a special time. To quote Hunter S. Thompson: It seems like a lifetime, or at least a Main Era-the kind of peak that never comes again. No explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world.
