I never really imagined any Roman could ever be performed so authentically as, well, as a roman! The pronunciation is so clear that we can follow the narrative through without any recourse to a text, and the emotion with which it is delivered - wow! The music also - as far as I can judge - is as it would have been during its live performances in XIV century France. Magnificent!

@@TheWithinTempation Actually it's called the dark ages because of how little we know of it, due to the slump in literacy and documentation upon the fall of Rome. The phrase means to say that we have a patchy understanding of it, but of course many have disagreed with this language, partly because it insinuates a backward age bereft of developments or beauty (which we know to be utterly false) and also because we're learning more and more about it as we go along, thus the shift to the more neutral term "middle ages" I.E an interesting period, smack bang between two major epochs in human history (Imperial Rome and the Renaissance) 😁✨

The "dark" what you're referring to is actually the early middle ages, not the high middle ages. Scientists loved to call it "dark" because after Rome fell there wasn't a big invention by the Europeans, even tho it's not actually "dark" at all.
