Ratha Saptami is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Surya, the Sun God. Celebrated on the seventh day (Saptami) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Magha, it symbolizes the transition of the sun toward the northern hemisphere, signifying longer days and prosperity.
Devotees take a sacred bath at sunrise, offer Arghya (water oblation) to the Sun, and recite the Aditya Hridayam Stotra for health, energy, and success. The festival is often considered the Surya Jayanti (birth of the Sun God) and is widely observed in temples, especially in South India.
☀️ May the Sun God bless you with health and prosperity! ☀️
