This & Grondahl show me, an ignoramus, just how versatile and charming a trombone can be. Thank you !

I can't really say I like this composition - but nevertheless it is quite interesting to hear the various sounds a trombone is able to produce.

I really like how he handled the introduction. He’s one of the few trombonists I’ve personally heard who doesn’t rush through it but instead really savors it. Very musical! As is the rest of the performance.

I have to learn this for a competition now. If I sound even 1/4 as good as Jorgen, I’ll be quite happy.

nothing wrong with some ii V I, this piece has jazz inspirations written all over it

@@yrockerboy yah the first movement is vaguely reminiscent of Tommy Dorseys “getting sentimental over you” and was actually written for Dorsey to play it but sadly that never happened. As far as the ii-v-I’s the piece also follows a very strict chromatic pattern so focusing on the chromatic movement ends up being highly important. Sorry for nerding out on you but these are just some tips I have for this piece and one of my favorite parts of it are the large spaces for your own interpretation. Have fun!

I'll be honest, I love hearing stuff like that. It's one little mishap in a fantastic performance, and it just doesn't phase him at all. I really enjoy Jorgen's playing.

It's a Bach 42A. I have the one with the gold brass bell and the lightweight slide. Spectacular. The Hagmann valve works like a charm :)
