Thus to me is golden footage . You have a musical genius is the truest sense , whose life at one point was lost to drugs. Through off of that .. you see a man here who is correcting the interviewer, focused , passionate and completely aware. If you didn’t know about the drugs and what he went through ,you’d not think it happened . It’s quite astonishing . I’m so glad he not only came out the other side but regained his love and passion . Plus he carried on playing . To me this is all as magical and special as his work with Fleetwood Mac at its genesis RIP you kind unassuming musical legend .

What I like best about these two part interviews is how humble and "matter of fact" Peter is. Like a regular punter in a guitar shop. None of the "full of myself" I'm an all-time great British guitarist (number 58 in "Rolling Stone Magazines" all-time list). Respect and RIP Peter. You did your bit. Thanks

Ian Harwell, there are 57 BETTER singers, songwriters and guitarists than Peter Green? As far as that list goes, do they have one that shows what I mentioned? IOW, I'd like to see a ranking of singers, songwriters AND guitar players; chaps who could be a one-man act?

Please go easy on him. He sounded every inch the East London born man that he was. Bethnal Green: famous for the Krays, Boxing clubs and Peter Green. It maybe does not flow as well because he's distracted by going through the cases and in turn it churns up many memories for him. I'd be equally distracted doing so. The interviewer SHOULD have sat him down and gone through a few choice guitars and given him more focus and time.

It seems like he recovered quite a bit from the LSD usage by this point in his life. The LSD 100% changed him in 1970 and he was never that same guy he used to be pre-usage, but he did seem more stable here later in his life.

maxwellfan55 That’s interesting. Of course it was not at all uncommon for his peers to move from Gibsons to Fenders as they got older.
@vayabroder7294 жыл бұрын
I did see him playing or at least posing for photo shoots with Les Pauls later in his life. In this interview there is a bit that’s revealing when he talks about The Supernatural he says he “did it” meaning getting the sustained tones with the Les Paul and in the next breath he says he shouldn’t have for more than one reason; starting at about 7:18 in the video. I am thinking he associated the Les Paul with his success and later the Munich incident in which he and Danny Kirwan were given bad acid by a German cult at a party and which sparked conflicting times in both their lives.
@maxwellfan554 жыл бұрын
@@SmelOdies Peter went off Les Pauls soon after he left Fleetwood Mac, I guess for a number of reasons, some we'll never discover. Yes, the Fenders are lighter and more comfortable, but bear in mid Peter played a Gibson (Howard Roberts Fusion) jazz arch top for some time when he started getting back to regular gigs with friends etc. Some called it an "unusual choice" but I think.he liked experimenting, plus like all us players, he just loved guitars of any type.
@maxwellfan554 жыл бұрын
@@vayabroder729 Yes, I picked up on that. There's probably a lot in that statement, even though he barely whispered it, but that's Peter Green, an enigma. Another facet of his story we'll probably never really properly understand, but it's fascinating. I've read a lot around his playing life, met him briefly, seen him a couple of times, it's so hard to work him out, best way is making your opinion between the things he reveals in interviews, or musicians he played with. I have very revealing interview from 1970 that makes a lot of sense and answers many questions, too long to publish here, but what's clear was he was sick of the hype and bullshit surrounding music "stardom", money, and expectation. He mainly wanted to play with friends, or companions, not for managers, record contracts, tours etc...make enough to pay for his instruments, recording gear... I always admired him, his death was a shock, it's left a lot of sadness and sense of loss to many of us. For me there's no finer, more sensitive blues guitarists, but we can still learn a lot from him.
