Morhgoz solution, take it to kickstarter, and remake it with a 'Modern' mode, with new everything, and have a 'classic' mode where the only changes are updated audio, visuals and game mechanics (hit detection, combos and so on). Hell, i'd back that right now if i could... as long as it doesn't become like OMF: Battlegrounds, cause that sucked.

I still play this game. If you used to play it, look it up. There's a mod site that has modded campaigns that add more fighters and a LOT more difficulty to the campaign mode. This remix is awesome.

i used to spent many afternoon on this game in my childhood, man i didnt even wasnt an expert on fighting games like these (like Stree t Fighter or Mortal Kombat) but for some reason this one i didnt have trouble so its pretty well designed and easy to do combos, i used to play with NOVA but then i found Jaguar the most fun for me to play, and man i loved how hard those metal impact sounded on every hit and looking at those metal parts and spark flying away. just pretty awesome game!!

If I recall correctly, the Midi software of the time were restricted to GM ect instruments sets and expensive. In-order to reproduce these pieces of music, you had to have a synthesizer capable of reproducing the music (A full synthesizer). Software synthesizers did not exist at this time, due to processor limitations, and licensing and sample copyright, Trackers allowed you to use custom samples with various controls, and all the demosceners of the time I'm aware of, used trackers directly.

No need to rush anything done or so. :) I was just amazed how well done this remix actually is if comparing with the original. Such bummer this amazing game never seen a remake... Judging by some comments. I completely understand why people want to see a remake of this game, it has been YEARS ago since the first and second OMF releases. If I finally knew how Unreal Engine 4 works, I'd happily make a remake of it. (Currently learning Unreal Engine 4 and Blender for 3D modeling) Then again, it's also the question IF people are still interested into an OMF game after so long. Best way around is most likely to make it freeware, to avoid copyright issues. I highly doubt it'll be possible to obtain a license from the IP Holder, knowing how most companies are these days. Some still think the same about Jazz Jackrabbit deserving a remake, which was also a fun game back in the day. (Just saying, Epic Games

I've heard speculations of an unofficial OMF sequel or remake before. None of them have progressed beyond talk, but should you or someone else actually get into developing a freeware game, I'd donate this track and maybe compose some more. :)

Very nice remix. I took a couple stabs at remixing it in Modplug Tracker myself in my youth; gave it some real guitars and such, made it sound a bit more acoustic. I think I used .it files though. As for the original file formats for OMF tracks, I'm not sure myself what they were originally in, because I have them in .mod and the file dates are 3/1995 and 6/1995.
