its always the masterpieces that go under the radar and its saddening, Jamie (the lead singer) has one the most captivating voices ever, even when performed live without autotune he sings flawlessly, along with the meaning behind his songs and use of instruments, i can't fathom why he isn't as popular as he should be, this music is genre defining.

This song tore me to shreds when I first heard it, and watching the performance of it was like dying and being reborn all in the breadth of one song. The strings rising and lifting as the song progresses and hits crescendo, hanging at a height before spiralling downwards in ecstacy. I will never not cry over this song.

Jeff, thank you for reviewing this song. Some years ago I heard Jamie’s voice for around five seconds on a Royksopp song. I stopped my car and looked him up and found In The Shirt. He carried away all of my emotions, and by the time the crescendo came up near the end, he had returned them all to me and I wept. It was a very emotional time for me. I shared the song with my dear sister. She reacted nearly the same way. I hope Jamie reads my comment and others like it and makes more masterpieces. Your review was the epitomi of all that I experienced. Simply beautiful, isn’t it! -L

The lyrics are beautiful and so touching, the buildup of the song is so attractive. Just like life it keeps you wanting more, expecting more only to have you realize what youve been waiting for was the things you already experienced but didnt value enough. Things lost, time past, love forgotten and emotions cooped up only to let it all explode in a quick summary of life like the end of the song with every experience of your life pasisng by you in just a moment making you long for more...making you reminisce....but alas...time gone is time lost.

I'm 30 and love all types of music. There something in ever genre I would like. But rap is my favorite music. But I'd say this type of theatrical music is my next favorite. This song here has that transcending way to it. And that's what phenomenal music is supposed to do. Like the film interstellar. I think that score plays alot into how great the film is. Because the score is transcending. Music isn't just to hear but to be felt too. And this song does that perfectly. This makes me feel like how requiem of a dream score does. Same with Ludovico Einaudi Experience. They just take me to another place while I listen. And that's what a true musical masterpiece is to me.
