@@StrateleStudios This, in my opinion, says a lot more about them as persons... we both know how many musicians have an enormous ego.. I have been lucky to work with many artists in showbiz, and you notice how they get more humble as years pass by and they gain experience of the road. So I had heard dirty loops because I'm Swedish and I was a music student when they first popped off with their covers online and I remember watching their covers and being like "man, these guys are good". Cue several years later I'm studying in a different town and I'm taking the train home for the weekend. 1h40m of just sitting around. So I start really searching through my phone for audio files. Tons of old tunes I've made myself, tons of records in FLAC that I'm checking out. Suddenly I see this file OverTheHorizon by Samsung. My phone is Samsung but I'm bored and whew lad, jesus christ. I knew exactly who it was who made the tune. Spent the next couple of days just catching up on what they had been up to.

When I first heard this I wondered how Samsung made this connection with Dirty Loops, but in the credits, it looks like the composer is Scandinavian, so that might be it. It's pretty amazing that Samsung had the foresight back in 2016 to sign this Over-the-Top trio to do Over-the-Horizon. Another great reaction from Jeff!

@@StrateleStudios Hah!, and I'm an Apple guy - as are most musicians I know - including Dirty Loops. Always a MacBook next to Aron. In all seriousness, although I know people have differing tastes in music, I marvel at the fact that The Loops with their unbelievable musicality and virtuosity, who seem to appeal to so many ages, aren't wildly heralded. I'm certainly exposing their brilliance to anyone who steps into my studios.

In the nooks and crannies of these money-hungry companies, we find one or two people who really actually love music that can make decisions. They take the occasional chance because what they're taking a chance on is undeniable. David Foster couldn't resist signing them to Verve, even though he knew the masses wouldn't get it. Quincy Jones got involved, even though he, too, knew he they aren't "radio" material. Someone at Samsung just loves music, had no expectations, and couldn't resist indulging him or herself by bringing Dirty Loops on to do this.

I have pretty much reacted the same way you do. I´m just giving it up inside hearing them going bonkers with their talent, too much... I mean, how you can make them fail? Starting with 6 notes from a global tech giant with billions of customers from all colors and cultures doesn´t scare them at all. They just take it, making it a stunning composition with blinding skills on their instruments + Jonah is creating a beautiful message and sings it so heart felt... I read that LOTS of people using Samsung phones fell in love with this and became aware of DL. Not only is this showing again that you can make "Pop" music that leads random people to the real stuff but isn´t this the most clever way to advertise your sh**??? ;-) Mission accomplished on every level imaginable!
