This comeback was worth the wait! I love songs that kick you in the face really early on. Jisoo's voice man, they all sound amazing, but Jisoo stands out to me vocally in this song. She always does, Jisoo has this fluidity to her voice that almost doesn't fit the edgier style BP has. The contrast is wonderful though.

OK, im diving in here, the song is bomb...the fits..well ..only these girls could make them look good...the dancing...disappointing because theres so much talent and yet i feel its still held back. Teddy is a bass monster and i love him for that..we have similar taste. The album is really eye opening and of a quality i feel nobody was expecting. I love all the songs...and its still something all ages could listen to without being overly offended. Finally my props go to these girls for being super sexy while still fully dressed, a rare thing these days. And a great reaction as always from you Joey, love to Maggie & Big Jasp.

On first listen, i was iffy on the song. On 2nd listen, it was better. I'm still not keen on the hook, i think it's a little "weak", but overall the song was pretty good and had some parts that i thought were really good. Jennie's 2nd rap was probably the best part of the song for me. Perhaps the long wait made me expect too much? I'll check out the lyrics next, maybe it'll improve my thought so n the song. In my opinion it's not the best girl group song so far this year which is kind of what i was expecting from them since i'm a huge blackpink fan.

look, I'm a blackpink fan. Whistle and Playing with Fire are still on my playlist. regardless of how well the song is received by others, it doesn't change how I feel about the song. I'm happy for them that they're getting a lot of recognition, I believe of all the current Kpop girl groups, they are definitely the most likely to have any chance of "real" success in the States. That being said, I personally believe this is not the best song they've released, and all the records their breaking has more to do with them as a group than this one song.

I have a music question, and it pertains to a voice "effect" that many unique vocalist have. We all know Rosé has a very enticing voice. There is an effect at the END of a line or note that the only way I can describe it as the note hitting the brakes and then goes high for a microsecond. Is there a name for that effect? I don't think it's vibrato because that is the actual oscillation of the voice. Whatever this "flourish" is called, I noticed that Jisoo is doing that more ddu-du ddu-during her singing sets in this song (when she tripped Lol).
