One of my bands used to rehearse next door to an organ repair shop in Van Nuys, I forget the owner's name and it appears the shop is gone but he did work for Lenny Kravitz, Benmont Tench, other pros. He let my band borrow Lenny's vintage B3 and Leslie when we were recording our first album. I play bass but I mess around with everything and I remember firing up that B3 and it was like bringing a living breathing creature to life. That thing huffed and puffed and blew the house down. I loved dabbling with it much to our keyboard player's dismay. Nothing like an old analog beast. Love these podcasts, love Neal's music since 1997. Great episode, Al's a monster. I went to a "prog jam" one time at UNCLE and Al showed up and I was stunned at what he played in the moment. So imaginative and weird and beautiful and outside of anything I've ever heard. A singular voice. Love you guys!

When I saw Neal starting this series I was really hoping Al would be one of the first guests. Now I think he should be the first repeat guest, for sure. Glad there was a Kevin Gilbert mention, I'm a massive Kevin Gilbert fan and the same person who turned me on to Kevin Gilbert also turned me on to Spock's Beard. One of my favorite things about Spock's is Al's wild playing and definitely my favorite thing in the Making of V video was Neal and Al together at Al's garage studio working on guitar bits. Great interview, great series, can't wait for more!

I learned about Spock's Beard when the Japanese version was first released, and went to buy it right away ... It's a wonderful music and member that has an impact on my life.The story of the two Morse brothers was very enjoyable for me, a Japanese who doesn't understand English very well.

I can’t top the wedding riot but I can come close. I was playing a really expensive wedding on cape cod and everything kept stalling at the reception…everyone was sort of waiting there like “?”. The bride just *wasn’t* showing up. So after a half hour or so, the planner comes in and tells us the bride is having a medically significant diarrhea attack. SHE TOLD US THIS. I played a wedding that was halted due to a near-fatal episode of diarrhea. Still got my five hundy for the day so I’m assuming she survived 🤷‍♂️
