I was fortunate to get to know him. He shopped at a store I used to stock shelves at. I helped him shop and was able to ask him about The Band. He was a kind and gentle man. May the good Lord let those guys jam in Heaven. R.I.P. Garth.

I love the story of Garth giving Musical lessons to a couple of the Band Members and charged them. I love it.

Wow, terrible. Just finished reading Robbie Robertson's autobiography as well as Levon's just this week. Both books speak of Hudson's incredible goodness and kindness and how he was a total genius in both his playing and musicianship and mastery of many instruments as well as his instrument and electronic design and wizardry. So sad, but I am so glad to have experienced his music. RIP Garth.

Have been a fan of "The Band" since High School in the 70's. Still have my original LP's. Garth was a true creative and musical genius. And we all loved him madly...

When these old, great rockers pass away it reminds me of how damn old I'm getting! Peace all you music lovers.

Garth Hudson was the last member to a legendary band that literary dates to the beginnings of Rock'n Roll with Bob Dylan. I always thought it would be Robbie Robertson that would have been the last one standing, but that's not the case. Garth was an amazing musician not just playing music but his understanding the nuts and bolts of music. A man of few words, but his kindness was self evident. His impact to music was monumental in so many ways. Inducted into the RRHOF and received many other accolades from other HOF entities. Rest In Peace Garth Hudson, now you're all together in Heaven in spirit. You will be forever missed.

The festival express - what a moment in time…Garth had to have felt the loneliness that age brings - when you are the last one standing. No one to share the experiences of the time of your life that was shared with others - its all gone. Man - I hope he is at rest - I hope he sees his friends again. The sounds they make = the songs - filled my life with joy. I can only say thank you. I wish - selfishly - I could have played with you. Your songs are in my heart. Allas we are all East of Eden.

First saw The last waltz film on the newly launched Channel 4 tv channel in the UK circa: 1983. Loved the band ever since! I'm well aware of their huge influence on popular music in general - look at the guests on The Last waltz concert... Sad to hear of Garth Hudson's passing, the last surviving member of the legendary band (sic). You can never extinguish their legacy though!!

Was not a big fan of 'The Band', but that is just preference. However, their impact and influence are undeniable. Very sad to see that they are all gone. It's weird. People like the Hendrix Experience and even the original Molly Hatchet. You hear the songs and realize that they are all gone. RIP to a collective legacy that will still be felt in 100 years.
