I agree with Adrian, Luis and Moni should receive the Parents of the Century Award. They brought us the next generation of young rock stars, which is their daughters. I haven’t realized how much their music has influenced me in a way.

Totally agree! Can anyone name another band where their parents were such a supportive component of the Band, and yet did not Over Manage their children?!? Mony and Luis are just the Best Parents ever! (no insult to other parents in the world) #APDVillaReality

Thank you. An award for the padres Villarreal 💯 Not only for rock, but also for just bringing up decent human beings. I think that on a larger scale that is a significant factor in DPA's popularity. 🤘⚡🔥⚠🔥⚡🤘

Indeed amigos, Rock in Mexico has been and still is a big part of our music appreciation repertoire , basically since it's inception up to this date, and not only local bands like The Warning. For example I was a huge fan of Kiss when I was only 8, back in 1977, then it came Queen, AC/DC, and even listened to some Beatles and Rolling Stones that were prior to me, and most of my friends had a similar experience and, nowadays, although Rock is not listened as it used to as well, you can tell is very alive and well at a descent level whenever you see Metallica coming in town, just to name one. We just love Rock doesn't matter the nationality or the language. Love your videos, cheers from CDMX.

Glenn - The Error album was ready to go at the beginning of 2020, when they were still independent. In February, 2020, they began a Kickstarter campaign to finance the recording of the album and their upcoming U.S. tour. They collected an enormous amount of money. Way more than they asked for. In March, the pandemic hit and stopped everything. They then signed with Lava in August. Even though they were then signed, many of us believe that the Kickstarter money financed the trip to New Jersey with David Bendeth. Jason Flom, from Lava had said that their budget for the year was full, but he wanted to sign The Warning anyway. The Warning fans always come through big time.

They mentioned in a VLOG on Patreon, "Error" was ready in December 2019 but they were going to wait to record the album because they were scheduled for their first US tour in March. When the pandemic shutdowns started they first postponed their tour dates then later cancelled them. It was after finishing the negotiations Republic and signing with Lava / Republic Records on June 23, 2020 is when they made the decision to record the album. FYI: the negotiations between Lava / Republic and the band took 7 months, going back to December 2019. The reason was DPA was not going to sign if they had to give up their Patreon. The Republic lawyers didn't know what Patreon was and that was the real sticking point. They said they put themselves in a bubble during the recording of "Error." They did did get out a bit. They weren't confined to the studios. They went to David's house in NJ for bbq and once to Manhattan. While Dany was recording guitar parts Luis, Monica, Pau, and Ale went into Manhattan. Fun fact: when they got out of the car Monica told Pau to put on her coat, but Pau thought Manhattan wasn't any colder than NJ and said she would be ok. Well, it turns out she wrong and was absolutely freezing and she had buy a new coat. Pau was happy because she got a new coat but Monica was not, after telling her to put on a jacket. Also, Dany said she was happy her parents and sisters got to get out but she missed them while they were gone. Another example how close they really are. Alejandra is quiet, but when asked a direct question, she answers clearly, concisely, and without hesitation. She doesn't pause, or stammer, or use whisker words like, "um" or "uh" or turn her eyes away like she is trying to think of what to say. And she is speaking in English, her second language as we know. Luis and Monica deserve the praise and recognition for raising such grounded, humble, and respectful young ladies and their selfless, self-sacrificing support. They put their careers aside to support their musical career.

@@ZWQ945 great info. I found the contract info telling. The record companies have been insisting on 360 deals with bands, especially New signers, but given the history of The Warning that would have made zero sense. I have done some back of the envelope calculations on the Patreon money before and it is totally understandable why they would not include that in the deal. But record companies are generally greedy, good ones included. It's also for 5 records if I remember correctly not the more typical 7. This was not your normal first major label signing. 1. The girls already had a huge rabid following with social media skills. Sorta like the maillist that bands used to keep. A small but rabid fan base is worth 10 times that size of a typical fan base. 2. They had strong management. Rudy, Mom and Dad are a hell of a team that the record company just had to accept. They knew what they wanted a label for and wanted just that, not the crap. 3. They did not need the money. See Patreon. This really allowed the band to get the deal they wanted and not be forced into taking the first thing offered. Rare. ZZ Top because Billy came from money. The Police because of the Copeland family. It means the girls kept control, It means that the ladies will actually make money without having to sell their soul. Gotta love that .

I really enjoyed seeing that between Dany and Ale. Dany has tried to engage Ale before in interviews, namely the Riff Magazine Interview in Berkeley CA at the start of the Mayday tour (search for - RIFF WITH: The Warning on opening for Foo Fighters, a busy 2022) @ minute 8:59 of that video.

Ok. I went back and checked some concert footage. At first I thought this might be at Aftershock Festival but now i'm almost positive it's at Louder Than Life Festival on the 25th of September. They almost wore the same outfits at both but Dany is only wearing that arm band at Louder than Life and at Aftershock Pau is wearing a red scarf.

There are some recent appearances by The Warning in interviews in Mexico, I think i Monterrey. One is a stand-up interview for a TV show, there is a sir-down interview where both Pau and Ale are wearing sunglasses, and the third appears to impromptu. They were walking past a studio where 3 guys were doing a sports show, they saw The Warning going past and called out "Rudy, does the band have time to come and talk with us?" I found the second two on a channel called Warningland and they have English subtitles, the 1st one I think was posted by a TV station.. Mostly promotion for their upcoming shows, but it was fun seeing them trying to talk sports.

You had never heard a David Bendeth album before Error? Really? Have you looked thru his discography? He had done so many young bands over the years.

To be fair, without the "Mayday in the making" documentary, I would never have known David Bendeth either. I can count the number of producers I actually *knew* before him on one hand.

I just took another look right now, and sure enough, somehow or another I haven't been exposed to any of the other albums he has produced. I only know his work with The Warning. Then again, The Warning was a reminder that there is still great music being made by new artists.

@glennandadriansrocktalk I went and looked.. it was actually not as a producer that I first came to know his name. He was the A&R guy who signed "The Cowboy Junkies". I was a massive fan. Margo sent me over the moon. I am also liner notes reader from back in the day when you had liner notes. How do kids learn anything about music nowadays..but I digress. Throw in the Beato connection. Guess I overestimated his awareness. My bad. Sorry about that.

@@glennandadriansrocktalk when we lost our house to a wildfire 15 years ago we lost thousands of recordings- vinyl cds tape and hard drive. Insurance didn't begin to cover it all. Amount them were the CJs albums. I miss my music. You could spend hours reading. All the details. Kids are missing out .
