The teacher wants to open the mind of this musician not to stick on routine interpretation of their music... and I think he is right... in our epoch of technology and media we cannot just simply go ahead playing centuries old master pieces just the same way as we heard them as if it was the only way to play them, routinely...

Keep the interpretation assimilated within the mind and instrument's sonority. There's not much facial expression that necessitates the musical performance of Mozart's piece for the sake of keeping the music in its essence objectively without the unnecessary placing acrobatic grimaces on the player's facial actuations.

Sooo, in summary, don't make weird faces.

A piece can be played slower or faster. Some persons like faster others slower other like more notes and more others less notes. This is a matter of taste. But this is Mozart violin concerto and should be played as is. It is ok. To play it better but it will no longer be Mozart but and adapt. The instructor should make a student playing good violin to play excellent violin performance. If the student already plays at an excellent level there is no need for teacher. Only an excellent player and or a director would know if the student is good or excellent. The notes are ok. But the timing and the volume should precise as well.

The problem with these videos and masterclasses is that we hear more words than music ...

search for concerts, not for classes, they're like that because of talk more

The video title specifically refers to what transpires as a master-CLASS, not a master-concert... Kraggerud's approach is excellent, IMHO, and if I were one of the target students in the class, I would be extraordinarily pleased.
