st3r Your bass playing being called bad by a black dude wearing dungarees and a hat, who visits guitar center with his hot, at least twenty years younger wife is probably the biggest compliment you can get. You should get a pair of nice La Bella Flatwounds and test their strength, while dangling from your nearest bridge.

My best friend has a tradition in his family where they go in blindfolded to buy their instruments. They bring someone else in with them to hand them different instruments so they’re not influenced by the brand or the look or color and all they hear is the sound and all they feel is the instrument. I went in blindfolded with my friend and he handed me a ton of different basses. Some of them I played for a long time some of them I just noodled around on for a few seconds. When he handed me the bass that I ended up buying, I just played an open E one time and the words thats it fell out of my mouth. When I took the blindfold off I was holding an American P bass. He's the type to objectify music and says his opinions as universal truths that cannot be refuted, and the type to attach intellect to music taste. He calls himself a music snob when he doesn't have any understanding for music outside of metal, and has an overall disdain for pop music, even going so far as to make more videos trashing low-hanging fruit pop music instead of talking about music he likes. @coldwarmike3 жыл бұрын
@@shorts-xb1op I worked at one from 08-10 full time and 11-12 part time and can only imagine how much worse it’s gotten with the several changes in ownership / corporate level leadership since. The end of my full time tenure was the transition of the first big change when the company merged with all the other online retailers / partners involved (vague terms so I don’t seem like I’m speaking out of my ass just remember they were bought or bought some brands around that time) It sucks because many old friends still work for the company or left and came back so I still see old coworkers at local stores and they know I know the gist of how it works and thus understand the limits of what they can and can’t do. The only real bummer is when I worked there it was understood that we were not to flaunt deals or cost flip products but buying something for a close friend now and again was no biggie and now even that seems locked down. So while I’d love to give my friends the sale they know I’m not paying 3x cost for something simple like a boost or OD pedal. Or a cheap piece of pro audio gear, etc. Like you said no wonder they go bankrupt every other quarter it seems. They really need to adopt the oops I opened the box policy some other stores have with the way old inventory sits waiting to be written off. Not to mention the dumpstering and destruction of stuff as stiff policy

If all of Adam Neely you experience is his youtube videos (which is totally me) it's strangely easy to forget that he's an outrageously talented bassist.

Honestly I’d go for the Ibanez, my sr505 is the most comfortable instrument I own and the sound is sublime. Personally I love the looks too, even though I know some aren’t keen. It’s a real shame they don’t make the 650 and above as left handed, I’d have 10 by now.

I have the exact same bass, same color, same pickguard, neck, pu and everything. It was bought to give my trusty 1964 Precision a chance to retire. I bought the 1964's in 1979, and it served me well over all those years. I was stunned when I played the 1950's Precision. The neck was coated in a thick Poly finish, so after getting action, intonation and truss rod adjustment right, I had to get me some sanding paper to sand down most of the finish to give the neck a better feel. I play it with roundwounds until now, but I'll go and get a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats, what will bring him even more to the feel and tone of its older Brother. Now, this bass feels like my good old one, the PU do sound a bit different, but I found a good substitute for my old one. Those '50's Precision Basses are really good instruments. I love mine a lot - and actually started using the P a lot more again in live situations, after some years of nearly playing only MusicMan StingRay basses, 5 and 4 strings, because I was like not really taking my old pal on stage anymore. I couldn't stand it if this one got lost or damaged. My 1964's Precision Bass will come with me and will be used in studio situations and for small gigs where I am able to keep an eye on the bass. There are so much memories in this bass. It was my main Instrument since I bought it, and it has seen a lot and could tell some weird storys.
