Jane one of THE greatest bands of the 70's...Live At Home is pure genius...Conny Plank production..stellar performance by Klaus, Marty, Peter & Manfred...will never ever forget the thrill of hearing this LP in 1979 on the classic Brain label double LP... an epic listening experience..hearing an audience roar out applause..wishing you were in the audience....As the years go by the quality, the hard rock edge, the progressive exploration via keys..this music was cutting edge, West German, cold war culture at it's most remarkable & stunning nature...Bravo Jane !!!

My dad used to play this CD to me when I was a kid. He said I was tripping balls just listening to the music, and wouldn't even realize he'd been stopped on the school parking lot for 10 minutes or so. Good times. He also played this to me when we took roadtrips. Best roadtrips ever.

Great album. I had most of their albums circa 74 to the mid 80's. I also had a few Grobschnitt, Guru Guru, Eloy,Bastard and Lucifers Friend... also early Scorpions before they became a pop band. Good stuff!!!

ntare Öffentlich kommentieren… Jan Andersen Kommentare Öffentlich kommentieren… Jan Andersen Hab mir dieses Album vor kurzem ganz angehört und laut. Mit den Visaton Monitor 890 MK2. Einfach Wahnsinn. Mir hat dieses Album mit 7 Jahren gefallen und jetzt mit 44 Jahren immer noch total begeistert. Wer verdammt nochmal spielt die Gitarre - man hört selten so einen Gitarristen der emotional so bei der Sache ist und einfach alles kann. Sogar tiefer gestimmten harten Sound und die Solos sind gnadenlos gut. Mir fehlt der Vergleich. Aber dieses Solo von Aphrodite Child Four Horseman, kann auch niemand covern. Und so ist es auch bei Jane Live 1976. Ein verdammt guter Gitarrist war damals auf der Bühne, Hut ab. Ohne diesen Gitarristen ist Jane uninteressant. Hat jemand eine Kamera Aufnahme von diesem Konzert aus 1976?

To Michael Gantt.... are there any other German bands from that era (the early to mid 70s) that you really like? I like Jane and some others. A band called Birth Control I like. (I’m not for sure they are German). Just wondering if you had some suggestions for me to check out

@@grifftrain Well, you know Americans... we generally know nothing about anything that's not done in English. I would not be a good guide to German bands, but that's my ignorance, not their lack of talent. If they didn't get much attention here, like the Scorpions, or Kraftwerk, Golden Earring (yeah, I know they're Dutch not German) or any of the other European bands that got American airplay, I don't know them. You can find some of them by searching for more Jane albums and seeing what else comes up: Eloy and Nektar I did know in the 70s, but check those out and see where it leads. EDITED to add: Oh, yeah... I guess I can recommend Kraan as pretty amazing but in a different vein than Jane, and the various incarnations of Amon Duul go off in yet another direction, then Ash Ra Tempel is pretty hard to even describe. If you like the very quirky stuff, Gong is not German but "international." Worth a look if you're just exploring 70s music and want to venture outside what was popular in the US in the 70s. Some lesser known American and British bands from that era: Rare Bird and your other Prog Rock bands...
