54:23 you live for moments like This! And this is why it's important to know the language of the music you play; that drummer saw it coming a mile away lol

I just love her sound so much. And not only the sound itself but her touch, how she approaches notes

As a Chilean, I feel proud to see the talented Melissa Aldana at MSU, where I spend three years conducting research. Mix of feelings

my only regret is that I couldn't climb through my monitor's screen and join the audience!Melissa is wonderful and a very 'heavy' player; the question of women playing this music should have been settled generations ago with Mary Lou Williams but there is always hope for our society as long as Melissa Aldana and all these other great young talents continue to emerge.

The arrangement called we love you melvin that Melissa Aldana played made me feel the theme of her projecting her whole feel was brilliant, the new jazz designed building should have a neve sound board and its design should have Austrialian design acoustics so the audience feels the composers and directors touch to the musical themes .

The MSU Tenor player was a monster. Very nice, also huge fan of Melissa, she blends in so well in a combo setting and doesn't try to overtake a tune like most soloist do. Just love her playing. Also come on, that Bass player! WTH, what a sound.

Yes is it is by Monk. It's great the way the horn players respect the composition - that's what you do with Monk -and don't just use it as a trampoline.

Yeah!! Melissa blowing her ass off with a pickup band mixed in with some seasoned old farts, funky black rhythm section!...everyone blowing and having fun!!!...Who is the other tenor player? Reminds me of the late great joe romano. Sounds like somebody who would have played in woody hermans band alongside sal nistico!..without being sexist mellisa is also a beautiful woman! Her playing is almost more emotional and gritty witb a straight ahead backup!..sorry just heard the musician introduction.
