Hi Thanks for the fantastic video, unfortunately it's still not working here and I'm wondering if it's because one USB Mic has a 1 ch 16-bit integer and the other a 2 ch 24-bit integer. Both are at 44,100 hz- I'm using a Beyer dynamic Fox and a LD Systems D1014CUSB. When I go to garage band I only have 1 and 2 input options not 3 and 4. Very frustrating. Is it possible to use these 2 Microphones or are they incompatible for some reason.

Great videos, but we are having an issue. One mic always has a stronger signal. I have two identical lavaliere mics, and am using two Dukabel TRRS to USB adapters. I adjust to 48000 and select the input mics for the aggregate. My problem is that every time I do it, one mic will have a much stronger input signal. I attempt adjusting from the system/sound setting and need to make large difference. One needs to be set around 15% and the other at about 55%. It does not make sense to me. I have tried several times and restarting the Audio Midi set up, but one is always much stronger.

curious about the matching sampling rates...I'm not trying to connect mics over usb, I'm trying to connect a behringer (shhhh) 2i/2o usb audio interface and the Elektron Model:Samples, which I use for drums and some bass lines and send audio over usb, so that I can do send drums, bass, and live synth and vocals all at once for live synth recording. However the Elektron is fixed at 48k 2ch 32 bit and the audio interface will only do 48k 2ch 16 bit. I'm not trying to record a podcast and use two microphones as this tutorial seems geared toward, so is this less important for connecting a groovebox (hate that word) and a synth? Might just have to fuck around and find out? lol...

Great video! I do have one question, though: how do you / can you set individual recording levels for each mic? I tried this technique on my Ampeg Reverb-a-rocket, setting up two different mix on each of the speakers. Both mics had pretty different levels and I couldn't balance them by adjusting the recording levels for each. Any thoughts?

I've been trying to figure this out too. I think if you go back to Audio Devices setup, and under each individual device (the ones making up the Aggregate Device) you can change the the left and right sliders for the input of each mic.

Is there a way to control the input on each device? I noticed in your video the "record level" option was greyed out like you couldn't control the gain of each mic. Also would love a video of how to use a usb mic and audio interface in garage band. Thanks!
@MusicRepo4 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the suggestion - the principle of USB Mic + Interface would be the same, but it's a good idea for a video I'll add it to my list. I'll also look at that issue of levels. I *think* - and I haven't had time to do this yet - that when you create an aggregate device you can control the levels for each individual device within the Mac Audio/MIDI setup. And on top of that, some devices you control levles on the hardware itself.
