As someone who has been listening to Sleep Token for a few years now, and a musician myself, you nailed it with that description: color. That is essentially this band's bread and butter. Not only do they have a distinct sound that you can pick out of a lineup, their use of "color" allows them to be as emotionally driven and vivid as they are, whilst still being greatly accessible to people who may not consider metal or its subgenres to be their cup of tea. This band is definitely one of the most innovative, powerful, and awestriking groups I've heard in a while. I'm borderline obsessed with their current catalogue and cannot wait to hear more.

I've never listened to Sleep Token before but I'm definitely gonna check out more. Their voice reminds me of the artist named Eden. He has some great music. Some you should listen to are, Wake Up, rock + roll, and one of his older songs called Drowning under the name Eden Project.

I hear a big George Winston style piano influence with this song, whether intentional or not. I love just how eclectic Sleep Token is, just so many different influences, and almost all genres I love. They have a strong indie rock influence along with jazzy & electronic touches. Not to mention a strong progressive rock complexity within their music, especially the very tasteful playing of the drummer, and Sleep Token also always has that dark metal foundation peaking through… Sleep token is alway super smart at picking what ever genre of music that will best suit vessels lyrics, and melodies that really supports Vessels vocals, and choosing whatever style works best for him. Just such a dramatic ebb and flow to their music that’s very cinematic and all consuming wall of sound, then they will pull back to its simplest elements… Just so damn cool and they have such an original sound!

L does have a pretty unique voice, but he's a big fan of Deftones, always has been, and all the influences for them, like Depeche mode, The Cure and so on, so the distress vocal style can be traced back to Robert Smith for one point of reference, with a few refinements of course, which fits as the band members are all from London.

I don't think I can recommend Thrice's new song Scavengers enough. The song is about Dustin Kensrue's(the lead vocalist) struggle with getting rid of toxic worldviews, as well as a kind of commentary on the issues in the information age. It's self produced and is a super gnarly, grungy but powerful sound. I think you'd like it a lot. Thanks for the content! I'm a new subscriber and I love this format. Keep it up!

My only complaint about This Place Will Become Your Tomb is that it doesn't go as heavy as Sundowning. It's still amazing, though. This video is fantastic, in addition to the music being great.
